00:14of Inside the Ring, and I'm here with your favorite senior designer, Dave Friedland,
00:19checking out the big man class today.
00:21So what do we got going on here?
00:22Well, Aaron, we are indeed looking at the big man class.
00:24We've only got three of them in the WWE All-Stars game, but sometimes that's all you need.
00:31WWE history doesn't have that many big men, and these are the best of the best.
00:35And I know it's the cheesiest joke of all time, but we really can only put that many on the
00:39disc.
00:40Yes.
00:41Well, what we're going to see here, I believe, is a superstar versus a legend.
00:46We're going to have Kane versus Andre the Giant.
00:50Arguably the two biggest of all time.
00:53Oh, yeah, not just any Kane, we have masked Kane here.
00:56And it's good to point out at this point that every WWE legend and superstar in the game
01:00has at least one alternate ring gear.
01:03I definitely don't want to go to sleep with that image of Kane in my head, although I think
01:07I'm going to have no choice after tonight.
01:09Yeah, these guys are fun to play.
01:11They're huge, they're big, they're ponderous, but they hit like trucks.
01:15His head's almost coming off the screen there, he's so big.
01:18Oh, and here we have not just old school Andre, but older school Andre.
01:23Tidy-whities, i.e. color red.
01:26Around the office, we call this version Frodre.
01:30And that was your creation, right?
01:32Oh, we have a couple people in here.
01:34Now, we've got, we go back really far on these guys' movesets.
01:37You know, for Andre the Giant, we went back all the way to 1972 in his match with Baron
01:42Von Rahschi to look for just the right moves to put in the game.
01:45Did you hear that, WWE fans?
01:47All-Stars is littered with authenticity.
01:50Yeah, we've got some real fans in this game.
01:52I've been watching WWE, WWF since the 1980s Cyndi Lauper, Captain Lou Albano, rockin' wrestling

02:01I still consider Savage vs. Steamboat and WrestleMania 3 one of the great WrestleMania matches of all
02:06time.
02:07We'll know that everybody else does.
02:08So tell us a little bit about what the big man class is.
02:10What are we seeing here?
02:11Okay, well, for one, extreme raw power.
02:15As we saw, Kane just kicked Andre right out of the ring.
02:18These guys are not fast.
02:20They don't have huge amounts of bracket chains or strike chains, but when they do get their
02:24mitts on you, they do lots of damage.
02:27They're also a lot harder to knock down.
02:29Your standard chains won't do it.
02:32You've got to really hit these guys hard to knock them down.
02:34It looks like Kane had some golden mitts there for a second.
02:37Can you tell us a little about that?
02:38Yeah, that is a charged-up punch.
02:41Now, there are other classes like the brawler who can charge up their punches, but only big
02:45men can actually store that charged punch and unleash it at the time of their choosing.
02:50And what's the greatest benefit of that?
02:52The greatest benefit of that is surprise.
02:53You can wait until just the right moment.
02:56Oh, here we have a turnbuffer.
02:57I think that's pretty much the greatest benefit of that.
03:01I tend to like to hit people with my charged punch just as they're rolling back into the
03:05ring after I kick them out.
03:06It tends to sort of dishearten them.
03:09Oh, Kane's got a chair.
03:11Weapons are confirmed in the game, ladies and gentlemen.
03:13And Andre doesn't like chairs, apparently.
03:16So there we get a little bit of juggling.
03:18Now, other classes can juggle, but no one can do it like a big man.
03:22They can slam you down to pop you up.
03:23Some of them can just stomp the ground and knock you into the air.
03:26It can set up all sorts of nasty chains.
03:28You'll see it.

03:33That's tricky.
03:34I mean, with Andre, I love doing a charge grab, throwing someone directly into the buckle,
03:39and unleashing a bunch of butt slams.
03:41All I got to say is Andre is getting utterly manhandled right now.
03:46Yes, he is.
03:47I think Andre's focusing a little too much on those chairs and maybe not enough on defending himself.
03:55It seems like Andre is just getting destroyed, and that's really what the big man class is all about.
03:59Look what we have here.
04:00We have a signature move here.
04:02Oh, look at that.
04:03A toss-up power slam, and Andre is flashing red.
04:06You know what this means?
04:08It's time for a finisher.
04:09And we've got the choke slam from hell.
04:12Let's just let the fans hear it.
04:18Oh, God.
04:19That is just so powerful.
04:21Brutal.
04:22Well, that's one hell of a big man match.
04:24Is there any final words you want to say about why the big man class is so cool?
04:27Well, if you want to play the most powerful class in the game, not necessarily the fastest,
04:31not necessarily the most complicated, but the most powerful, big man is for you.
