Transcript
00:00The film is about a group of young film-making students
00:03who are about to make an assignment
00:06and they choose to do it on a bear poacher
00:09that's supposed to be in the neighborhood.
00:10What they don't realize, which they find out,
00:12is that he's actually, you know, the troll hunter
00:14working for a secret government agency
00:17keeping trolls at bay in their reserves.
00:20It's a monster movie, but it feels like it's reality
00:23and it's, yeah, it has a lot of humor.
00:26It plays with the fairy tales and it's kind of a
00:31Jurassic Park gone crazy somehow.
00:34I grew up with these fairy tales that I used to love when I was a kid
00:38and somehow those fed into when I saw Jurassic Park
00:41I wanted to make a movie like this myself
00:43and then, you know, we have our own monsters in Norway, the trolls.
00:47So it was kind of a few years ago
00:51I started thinking of this idea of a guy who hunts for them
00:53and suddenly you have a full idea for a movie.
00:57As soon as I thought of the idea
00:58that it must be like 2005, 2006
01:01it was the idea of shooting it as a documentary can immediately
01:06because I had to figure a way of presenting it
01:09so we could make it realistically on a Norwegian budget.
01:13We try to almost, like, do every take a little bit different
01:17and with other words
01:19and to make it authentic and to make it real
01:21and for it to feel like a documentary.
01:26They're mostly based on Norwegian fairytale drawings.
01:29They were made in the 18th century
01:31and they're really, like, part of our heritage
01:33and how we see trolls.
