00:15The story's set in about ten years from now, and boxing's illegal, and robots box instead of humans,
00:21and Hugh Jackman plays a down-on-his-luck promoter who finds out that not only does he have a
00:26crap robot,
00:27but he's got a son he didn't really care about, and all kinds of fun and exciting sci-fi and
00:31science fiction stuff happens.
00:33Spielberg was the producer, Shawn Levy, who's done Night of the Museum.
00:36I knew that it was going to be A-plus, but what I think I love most about this movie
00:40is its heart.
00:42So it really is more than a special piece. It's Rocky meets Transformers.
00:46Three of the robots are real, so Adam, Noisy Boy, and Ambush, those are real, remote-controlled,
00:52I see how I'm doing, like a robot thing.
00:53I love the robot thing.
00:54We're into another comedy band right now. Boom. Comedy.
00:57You see, even though I graduated from comedy movies, I can't help myself.
01:03Times have changed.
01:05Fighting has changed.
01:09But the crowd, they never change.
01:12I think audiences are going to take crazy, badass robot action with something they expect less, which is genuine, underdog
01:23story, redemption, tale, poignant.
01:27It's a very identifiable story, because most of us can relate to a slightly complex relationship with one or other
01:34parent.
01:35And in this case, it's a boy and his father. And, you know, there's a lot of redemption in it.
01:39We had real robots to act with. It was not like special effects movies that I've done before.
01:44The biggest compliment that people have given this movie is that they can't tell what is a real robot and
01:49what is a CG robot.
01:50So that was the whole thing is blending, blending just real robots, you see one of them here, with this
01:57CGI that I would not approve a shot until I could not tell whether it was real or not.
02:02So that was the whole challenge.
02:04The human body can only take so much.
02:09But the steel never stops.
02:12Well, I mean, Hugh is, in addition to being a legend, is also just the straight-up nicest guy I've
02:17ever, ever encountered.
02:19So every day is a joy with him, truly. I've said that about other actors. I really, really mean it
02:23with Hugh Jackman.
02:24This guy's the most generous guy every Friday. He'd show up with lottery tickets for the whole cast and crew.
02:29And he's just a lot of actors you can't get out of the trailer.
02:33Sometimes we had to suggest he go back to the trailer to take a break. He's just the hardest working
02:37guy.
02:37I don't know what it is about London Premieres, but even this has gone, like, London Premieres to another level.
02:42They just get so excited and it is such a thrill.
