00:03It was heard that the junior colleague named only as Officer A was a police constable and
00:11worked directly under former Chief Inspector Kevin Whedon's command on more than 20 occasions.
00:18It was said that between August 2024 and February 2025, Mr Whedon pursued a sexual and emotional
00:26relationship with the woman. At the time, Mr Whedon was a Chief Inspector within the Major
00:32Operations and Training Unit at M06 Public Order Command. The panel was told that in an interview,
00:40Mr Whedon admitted sending personal messages to the woman saying he was in a situationship
00:46with her. A situationship is defined in the Cambridge Dictionary as a romantic relationship
00:52between two people who do not yet consider themselves a couple but who have more than
00:57a friendship. It was also heard that Mr Whedon sent emails and messages to the officer in
01:03which he referred to her as his favourite person and a silly sausage. The panel was shown messages
01:10sent from Collie Gay, including one in which she said she wanted to be left alone and did
01:17not want a relationship. The officer was accused of continuing to contact the junior colleague,
01:23asking how to unblock him on one occasion.
