00:00Standing here today brings me back to my roots, back in Singapore.
00:05I've come to realize that education is a lifelong passport.
00:10I was born in the 80s, and back in primary school, my world was hyper-local.
00:18My universe didn't extend much further than my own neighborhood in Yochukang,
00:25and the comfortable rhythm of my daily routine, and the familiar surroundings that I see every day.
00:33But eventually, I had this amazing opportunity to travel across the country from Yochukang to Bukit Hima
00:39to attend what is now known as Wachong, after my PSL use.
00:44Now, for a kid back then whose world is so small, I know Yochukang to Bukit Hima is not that
00:51far,
00:51but choosing to go there completely pushed me out of my comfort zone.
00:57And that lead sparked intellectual curiosity that showed me that my potential could be as limitless as my imagination,
01:07and is untouched, really, by physical boundaries.
01:12In many ways, this is the same story of Singapore itself.
01:16Now, we may be a very small island nation in our geographic borders,
01:22but through curiosity and resilience,
01:25we have always looked outwards and upwards,
01:28and created an oversized global footprint.
01:33Now, today, your global footprint expands too.
01:37You now have the passport to look beyond the walls of this institution,
01:43and take your work to the world stage.
01:45.
01:45.
01:45.
