00:02IBM expects quantum computing to begin contributing meaningfully to its financial
00:07results by 2028 or 2029. CEO Arvind Krishna said Thursday on CNBC's Mad Money. He said IBM and
00:16startup Algorithm IQ recently demonstrated what they described as quantum advantage with a quantum
00:21computer solving certain computational problems more efficiently than leading classical computers
00:26while verifying the results. Krishna said the technology could eventually improve batteries,
00:31advanced materials, fusion energy and medicines. He also said IBM is making progress toward
00:37commercial applications despite skepticism about commercialization timelines. Krishna added that
00:42customer projects delayed after IBM's earnings report were postponed rather than canceled
