Watch as a dog walk ends in hilarious fashion after a woman falls into a muddy gully before accidentally pulling her partner in as he tries to rescue her.

The amusing footage, filmed by Elisha Thorpe in Spalding, England, shows the couple attempting to cross a muddy ditch while out walking their dogs at Lutton Marsh.

The woman's partner successfully jumps across the gully, but she loses her footing while attempting the same crossing and plunges into the thick mud.

He reaches out to pull her to safety, but instead she drags him off balance and into the muddy ditch with her.

The pair are left covered in mud as their dogs watch on from the bank, seemingly unfazed by the chaotic rescue attempt.

The hilarious footage was shared online and Elisha said: "We were walking the dogs in Lutton Marsh & trying to cross a gully to get to the river, my mums partner jumped across & my mum tried to but fell in so my mums partner tried to help her out but she ended up pulling him in".
