00:00Why does Captain America's shield seem to fly on its own?
00:02Many people believe this happens because Captain America uses some kind of mechanical device.
00:06But that only happened in Avengers, Age of Ultron.
00:08The truth is that at first it didn't even return to his arm.
00:11In Captain America, the first Avenger, when Steve throws his shield in that scene,
00:15it gets stuck in the wall.
00:16But over time, Steve became so skilled that he started calculating
00:19the force of each throw to make sure it would return to his hand.
00:22It's pure skill.
00:22Besides the fact that the shield isn't used only for defense,
00:25it also works as a walking target.
00:26Notice that the villains always shoot at the shield, never at Steve's feet.
00:29And that happens because of the shield's design.
00:31The circle with the star in the center naturally draws the eye
00:34and makes any enemy fire directly at it.
00:36The only one who aimed at the Captain's legs was Spider-Man himself.
