00:06in June. The meeting of its policy board follows that of the U.S. Federal Reserves on Wednesday,
00:12at which the board also kept interest rates steady.
00:17The Japanese government had carried out yen-buying, dollar-selling market intervention,
00:22to boost the weak yen on Thursday. Governor Kazuo Ueda said Japan's economy was expected
00:28to keep growing moderately. However, the central bank expects to keep raising rates,
00:34adjusting the degree in response to the economy, prices and financial conditions.
