00:01University College Birmingham has acquired the Cube Hotel and former Marco Pia White restaurant

00:06through a £15 million investment in hospitality training across the city. The rooftop site,

00:13spanning the 23rd, 24th and 25th floors, will become a 52-bedroom hotel and restaurant run

00:20commercially while giving students a practical experience. The wider programme will create more

00:25than 150 jobs, with new venues planned in Harbourn and at the University's Summer Road campus.

00:32Birmingham College of Food's existing restaurant will also be refurbished.

00:37Major redevelopment work at the Cube is expected to begin within three to four months.
