00:06but when Irv Gangdus took it over in 1970,
00:09that's when all the rock stars would show up.
00:12They'd all hang out at Irv's.
00:14In 2000, legendary Sonia Hong and her family
00:18took over the burger stand,
00:20and they became these, like, local legends.
00:22They ran the business until 2018,
00:25and Sonia just couldn't run the stand anymore by herself.
00:28I tried Irv's. I loved it. I love Sonia.
00:32I said, Sonia, I want to bring back Irv's.
00:34She goes, Lawrence, I don't want to run Irv's.
00:37She goes, how about you run it, and I'll come and work for you?
00:41And at that moment, I was like, let's do this.
00:44I need to do this for the community.
00:45Irv's should never have died, and we need to bring this back.
00:49For the 80th birthday, we, at all of Irv's locations,
00:53we are going to be serving 80-cent roadside singles.
00:57So that's a four-ounce patty, lettuce, tomato, onion,
01:01Irv's sauce, American cheese,
01:02in between a really squishy, fresh bun, 80 cents.
01:06You know, we don't rely on hype.
01:09We rely on quality food and good old-fashioned hospitality.
01:15And I think if you just focus on making a good product
01:19and treat your customers right, you can live forever.
