00:05Global demand for critical minerals is rising,
00:08placing research-rich regions
00:10at the center of industrial growth
00:12and new economic opportunities.
00:15This is Business Line Uzbekistan.
00:18Hello and welcome!
00:20The country, with its rich geological regions,
00:23is actively developing rare and strategic metals.
00:26By 2030, the country plans to increase its annual production
00:31to 500,000 tons of copper,
00:35155 tons of gold,
00:37500 tons of silver
00:39and 10,000 tons of uranium.
00:41Uzbekistan aims to launch 76 projects,
00:45targeting 28 rare minerals,
00:47with a total investment of more than 2 billion euros.
00:51International cooperation plays a crucial role
00:54in Uzbekistan strategy.
00:56The European Union has signed memorandums
00:59of understanding on critical minerals,
01:01with Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan,
01:04aims to attract private investment
01:06into the region's mining and processing industries.
01:10Here is more.
01:10The Almalec Mining and Metallurgical Complex
01:14is one of Uzbekistan's and Central Asia's leading producers of copper,
01:18molybdenum, polymetallic and gold-bearing ores.
01:22It also ranks among the world's top 30 copper producers.
01:25We are in the Kalmakar open-pit mine,
01:29one of the largest copper deposits in the world.
01:31This massive site supplies millions of tons of copper ore each year,
01:35playing a key role in Uzbekistan's mining and metallurgical industry.
01:46And today we have a year-old production
01:50of more than 38 million tons per year.
01:53We have the main mining,
01:55we constantly collect mining,
01:57silver,
01:58molybdenum,
01:59and also small metals.
02:02We have a total 13 metals.
02:03At the Oschlichmann deposit,
02:05key metals include copper,
02:07gold,
02:08silver,
02:08molybdenum,
02:09and sulfur.
02:10Rare elements such as
02:11rhenium, selenium,
02:13and tellurium are also extracted here.
02:15This is the Chalkapiri.
02:17This is the gold kolchadar.
02:19This is the main mineral here.
02:22The mine stretches 4 km in lands,
02:252.3 km in weeds,
02:27and reaches at depths of 250 meters.
02:30The mining has increased in 2,5 times.
02:36These amounts are enough for more than 50 years.
02:39Another key component of the Almalak complex is the zinc plant.
02:44It produces zinc, cadmium,
02:46sulfuric acid,
02:47zinc oxide,
02:48copper clinker,
02:49and zinc sulfate,
02:50with annual zinc output reaching up to 120,000 tons.
03:09To reduce environmental impact,
03:12a new sulfuric acid production unit is being launched.
03:16It will capture and process industrial gases that would otherwise be related into the atmosphere.
03:22In this tank,
03:23there are 20,000,
03:2479,000,
03:25m3,
03:26technology,
03:27gas.
03:29There are 180,000 tons.
03:32There are 540 tons.
03:34There are 540 tons.
03:34There are 540 tons.
03:35There are sulfuric acid.
03:36There are 2,5 tons.
03:37With rising production and major investments,
03:40the mining sector is set to play a growing role in the global critical minerals supply chain.
03:48Joining us love is Oral Yusupov, Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology.
03:53Mr. Yusupov, thank you for being here.
03:56What new projects are planned in Uzbekistan?
03:58The world has been created in Uzbekistan.
04:04Today, the year has been created by graphite.
04:07The graphite is created by graphite.
04:09It's been created by metal,
04:10metal, metal,
04:12and metal metal.
04:14It's been created by 2030.
