00:00We know that small boat crossings are a big challenge, especially at this time of the year when we see
00:05warmer weather.
00:06But we have seen some remarkable success working with our partners in France.
00:11We've seen a 40 percent reduction in crossings. I think 46,000 individual crossings prevented.
00:19So that is good progress. In fact, if you'd asked us two years ago at the general election where we'd
00:26expect to be within a couple of years,
00:27and we committed to those sorts of numbers, I don't think anyone would have believed it possible.
00:32So that relationship is working. But if the Home Secretary were standing here now, she'd be the first to say
00:38lots done.
00:39But there's a lot more to go out. And we will we will do so with determination, both working with
00:43France,
00:44but also strengthening our own immigration laws as well.
