00:21systems. After the meeting, Ukrainian officials confirmed that President Trump's top envoys,
00:26Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are expected to travel to Ukraine in the coming weeks
00:31in an effort to restart negotiations with Moscow. Now, that is a significant move as the envoys have
00:37previously only visited Russia. Later in the day, Trump sat down with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
00:43Netanyahu to discuss the next phase of the conflict with Iran. The talks came after Trump bristled at
00:50the Israeli Prime Minister's offer to share intel about Iran's Pickaxe Mountain nuclear site.

01:17world?

01:20Despite that prickly sentiment toward Netanyahu, White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said
01:26the nearly 90-minute Oval Office sit-down was, quote, positive and productive. Both Zelensky and
01:33Netanyahu were in Washington to attend the funeral of late Senator Lindsey Graham.
01:39Newly released body cam footage in the Brian Koberger case shows the moment police officers first
01:45discovered the bodies of four slain University of Idaho students. The video, which is included in
01:51an upcoming Netflix documentary, captures the shock of the officers as they walk through the home,
01:57find the victims, and radio for help after realizing four people had been killed.
02:02The documentary also features the first police interviews with surviving roommates Dylan Mortenson
02:08and Bethany Fonk, including their accounts of the hours immediately after the killings.
02:13The series comes just days after Koberger claimed from prison that he was misled into pleading guilty,
02:20despite previously admitting to the court of his past murders as part of a deal that spared him
02:26from the death penalty. I asked The Post's deputy managing editor, Michael Zenni, about the likelihood
02:32that Koberger's new claim will get him a new trial.
02:36The short answer about whether Koberger has a shot at a new trial or to reverse his plea,
02:45which is what he's actually requesting, seems to be nil. The chances are almost nil. Now,
02:52it does seem that he's likely to get a hearing to consider his request. But the experts we talked to,
03:00including some criminal experts, criminal lawyers in Idaho, said that the Idaho taxpayers paid five
03:11and a half million dollars for his legal defense, for his criminal defense. And his lawyer was basically
03:19one of the most respected death penalty lawyers in the state, because at the time he did face the
03:26death penalty. So the consensus here is that he, you know, he basically stands very little chance of
03:35being granted, you know, a do-over. Now, that said, there's a couple of interesting bits here.
03:43One, the family of Kelly Concaves, one of the victims, actually said, you know, bring it on,
03:53basically. The family members came out and said, well, we were against the plea agreement to begin
04:00with, because we actually did want a full hearing of the evidence. And we're convinced that he would
04:08be convicted if there was a full trial. And by the way, if he's convicted of a full trial,
04:15he faces potentially death by firing squad, which is something that Kaylee's family also supported.
04:25The other interesting bit here, so we read the handwritten affidavit that he is filing with the
04:33court, that Koberger is filing with the court. And he cites a clump of hair found in one of the
04:41victims' hands that was not tested positive as being Koberger's. He is hanging basically the entire
04:51claim on these hairs. And we spoke to experts about those as well. And they sort of dismissed this as
05:01saying, you know, just because on some paperwork that was, you know, released after the fact,
05:07there were a few question marks. It does not mean that this was not an effective defense,
05:14not an effective representation that Koberger received before taking the plea deal.
05:22New details are emerging about the final hours of Mississippi teen Nolan Wells, but they are only
05:28deepening the mystery surrounding his death. According to a Mississippi Marine Resources report,
05:34witnesses told investigators the 18-year-old had been drinking heavily on the 4th of July before he
05:40disappeared on remote Horn Island. The same report says Wells chose to stay behind on the island with
05:46an unknown female when his friends returned to shore after they claimed their boat was taking on water.
05:53Now, newly released video appears to support part of that account. The footage shows the boat being
05:59towed away from Horn Island with seven of Wells' friends on board, but Nolan is nowhere to be seen.
06:05The woman referenced in the investigative report has since been identified by the Daily Mail as 19-year-old
06:10Katie McCormick. Her sister disputes the suggestion that Nolan stayed behind to be with her,
06:16saying McCormick believed he had returned to the mainland with his friends.
06:21Wells was found dead two days later wearing only blue swim trunks. An independent autopsy
06:26commissioned by the family raised additional questions after the pathologist noted red discoloration
06:32on the back of Wells' head and said he could not rule out a possible neck injury because key parts
06:38of
06:39the throat were not available for examination. Wells' parents say they still cannot understand why
06:44their son stayed behind on the island, insisting he was always taught to stay with the group.
