Palace slams Sara over SONA ' waste of time' comment  Malacañan Palace slams Vice President Sara Duterte when she said the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was a 'waste of time.' In a press briefing on July 29, 2026, Palace Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said the SONA was a constitutional obligation and a platform for the president to outline his accomplishments and plans for the nation. 'Not giving respect to the SONA is not giving respect to the Constitution. It’s not giving respect to the institution,' Castro said in Filipino.
