00:00Do you ever wonder why your grandmother's cooking always tasted better?
00:03Because she started from scratch.
00:04So when we were testing all the recipes for our Southern Living insiders,
00:07we started realizing that every recipe that called for chicken
00:10called for you to cook a whole chicken first.
00:13And it was like, well, that makes sense.
00:14They didn't have rotisserie chickens in the grocery store back in the 60s and 70s.
00:17So we just run to the grocery store for a rotisserie chicken an hour before dinner.
00:21But our poor grandmothers had to cook a whole one just to have chicken salad.
00:24Let's pause and take a moment to appreciate the love and care that they put into every dish.
