00:00Kermit was once so neglected her family didn't know if she'd survive.
00:04Now she has cats who follow her everywhere.
00:10And Kermit gives total big sibling energy.
00:16You can just totally see how much they adore each other.
00:21But a few years ago, Kermit's life did not look like this.
00:26When Ami first brought Kermit home, she would spend her days in the same spot, almost as if she were
00:32frozen.
00:35Kermit's body was dealing with the effects of long-term neglect,
00:40and the doctors told Ami that it might be kinder to just let her go.
00:47Day after day, Ami kept showing up, choosing not to give up just yet
00:53and see if Kermit still had a fight in her.
01:00And then one day, Kermit did something no one knew if she'd ever do again.
01:08The iguana that they said might never eat solid food again was eating on their own.
01:18I can't imagine her excitement.
01:20And at this point, Ami knew that the only thing that could fully heal Kermit was love.
01:29So Ami kept building Kermit's world a little bigger.
01:35She gave her plushies, and they became her little emotional support crew.
01:43And then the cats became part of that world, too.
01:48They had been curious about Kermit for so long, and once they got close, they were completely obsessed.
01:55Working at the Dodo, I see stories like this all the time.
01:59And Kermit's story, it really reminds me that love doesn't just comfort animals.
02:05It sometimes brings them back to themselves, too.
02:10But when we're talking about Kermit, I see stories like this all over the place.
02:14And since then, it was not a podcast.
02:14And I love them.
02:19Bye-bye.
02:19Bye-bye.
02:19Bye-bye.
02:20Bye-bye.
02:20Bye-bye.
02:20Bye-bye.
02:20Bye-bye.
