00:03:29Their purpose is to deceive, influencing people to sin and keep them in spiritual darkness.

00:03:37Now let's stop there for just a minute when we talk about spiritual darkness.

00:03:40As we all know when we read the Bible from a biblical perspective, we receive the light of the Holy

00:03:46Spirit.

00:03:47So when we're talking about the light of the Holy Spirit, that is directly connected to Jesus Christ and God.

00:03:52But when we start talking about demonic forces, it's in spiritual darkness.

00:04:09These forces are described as being in constant, let me say that again, constant battle in opposition to God's will.

00:04:18Let's go to the Word of God and just see some examples of what I'm trying to tell you today

00:04:23about how the influences of demons are spelled out in the Bible.

00:04:28Ephesians 6-12, for we do not wrestle against the flesh and let me say that again.

00:04:37We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this

00:04:49present darkness.

00:04:56So I've had three different experiences where I wouldn't say that I have an ability.

00:05:05It's more like a sixth sense where I can kind of sense that something's off spiritually with somebody.

00:05:13Either they're possessed or they're dealing with something ridiculously evil or something along those lines.

00:05:21The first time I realized I had this kind of sense was when we had a guest over at the

00:05:27house and I was upstairs.

00:05:30I wasn't aware that this guest was coming over, but I heard a voice downstairs talking and I suddenly got

00:05:37chills down my spine.

00:05:38I had no desire to go downstairs or see this person.

00:05:42I refused to come downstairs for a long time.

00:05:45And then when I was asked to come meet them, I finally caved and I went downstairs, but I couldn't

00:05:51look them in the eye.

00:05:51There was something wrong.

00:05:53I didn't understand why I felt this way because it was the first time I'd ever felt this.

00:05:58I had never under, I couldn't understand why I didn't want to see this person.

00:06:05I try my best to be understanding of most people.

00:06:09And so the fact that I was unable to even look this person in the eye when I was around

00:06:15them and wanted nothing to do but run away was a new feeling for me.

00:06:20I was completely dumbfounded and unable to move.

00:06:27And then I realized that maybe there was something wrong with this person spiritually and became clued in kind of

00:06:36in the fact that maybe I can sense something that other people can't necessarily sense about them.

00:08:16You know, a lot of people mess with things that they don't quite understand what it is.

00:08:22And it's very dangerous when you're messing with demons and you're not fully understanding of what they are and who

00:08:33they are.

00:08:33And you're not being cautious.

00:08:38And so a lot of the times I wonder if these people that I get these feelings about were just

00:08:43playing around with something that they didn't quite understand.

00:08:47And it became a presence on them, a dark, evil presence on them without them even being completely aware of

00:08:56it.

00:08:56John 8, 34.

00:08:58Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.

00:09:06Did you catch that?

00:09:07Everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.

00:09:102 Timothy 2, 26 speaks of this.

00:09:14Speaks of those trapped in sin being taken captive by the devil to do his will.

00:09:21So not only can you do the will of the God and Jesus Christ, but you can also end up

00:09:26captive to the will of the devil.

00:09:29You'll eventually just be doing the will of the devil.

00:09:32And these are the demons that we are dealing with.

00:09:34They take over our bodies.

00:09:36They tempt us with things.

00:09:37And then they take over.

00:09:38And next thing you know, we're serving the devil.

00:09:41Now, in the Bible, it says God says you can only serve one God, and that is him.

00:09:48So when the devil, you start worshiping the devil, you're no way in contact with the God at this point.

00:09:56Satan, the devil, Lucifer, whatever you want to call him.

00:10:02I think we're far beyond the point of asking the question, does the devil exist?

00:10:11In what form may be the question.

00:10:13But does he exist?

00:10:15Yes.

00:10:15Look at all the evil in the world.

00:10:17Even if you change the name out from the devil to evil.

00:10:22Yes, that exists.

00:10:24And on top of that, Satan is glorified in the media.

00:10:29He's on our television screens, promoting indulgence, rituals.

00:10:37He's on our phones, showing us all of this worldly glory and making us feel less than worthless.

00:10:49All of society wants to be happy, but we continue to glorify evil.

00:10:54Satan, demons, and hell are mentioned many times in the Bible because they are key elements in the overreaching narrative

00:11:03of spiritual warfare.

00:11:04The Bible uses Satan and demons to explain the presence of evil in the world.

00:11:10Demons and demonic forces are real.

00:11:14And what do they do to us, they affect us, they affect us, they attack us in our mind, so

00:11:19we have to be strong in our mind when we're dealing with this.

00:11:22And there's this evil in the world, Satan as an adversary is seen as the source of temptation, deception, and

00:11:30rebellion against God.

00:11:31He's mentioned frequently to highlight his role in leading humanity into sin and suffering.

00:11:38So when we start talking about Satan and the devil and demonic forces, it's an attack on humanity.

00:11:45And he deals with it through sin and suffering.

00:11:48Let's talk about the Bible for just a second.

00:11:50In Genesis 3, Satan appears as a serpent who tempts Adam and Eve, leading to the fall of humanity.

00:11:59We all know the story of Adam and Eve, but that was all Satan-driven.

00:12:03So what equals sin?

00:12:06What comes from sin?

00:12:09Death.

00:12:10That's why God had to send Jesus to come to this earth and to die for our sins.

00:12:17He was the only one that could do it.

00:12:19We are imperfect people.

00:12:30We fall to sin constantly and constantly, and then it's all influenced by demonic forces.

00:12:37The devil, Satan, comes, and he leads us down that path of sinful nature.

00:12:43He's trying to destroy humanity.

00:12:45His main goal, though, is to keep you as far away from Jesus Christ as possible.

00:13:11Job 1.6-12 in the Bible states,

00:13:16Satan is shown as the accuser, challenging the righteousness of Job.

00:13:21Now, does anybody remember the story of Job?

00:13:25I'll just tell you a very quick overview of Job.

00:13:29Job was a man who had many things.

00:13:32He had a big house.

00:13:34He had a huge, huge thing.

00:13:37His farm was huge.

00:13:40He had plenty of livestock.

00:13:42He had a wife.

00:13:43He had many kids.

00:13:44But what happened?

00:13:46The devil came to God and said,

00:13:50the only reason that people, and I'm paraphrasing here,

00:13:54the only reason your people believe in you so much

00:13:57is because they haven't had any adversity in their lives.

00:14:03So if you were to do wrong, bad things to them,

00:14:05that they would not believe in you.

00:14:06They would not love you as they say they do.

00:14:09So God agreed to somewhat of a test that Satan wanted to do.

00:14:17So he let Satan do some bad, terrible things to Job.

00:14:22He took his life.

00:14:24He killed all his livestock.

00:14:25He burned his house down.

00:14:26He killed all of his children.

00:14:28But through all of this, Job rebuked Satan.

00:14:36The frequent mention of Satan and demons

00:14:38illustrates that evil is not just a result of human failure,

00:14:42but also due to spiritual forces

00:14:45actively opposing God's purposes.

00:14:49And that's the main goal of the devil.

00:14:51When I read the Bible, I see two things

00:14:53that just come to mind and hit me this morning

00:14:55as I was coming here.

00:14:56God's power and freedom.

00:14:59God gives us freedom.

00:15:00And he also gives us the power

00:15:02to deal with these demonic things.

00:15:04But we have to accept the Holy Spirit

00:15:07to receive that power,

00:15:08to work against these evil spirits in our lives.

00:15:12Demonic forces are intended to remind Christians

00:15:16that they are in a spiritual war

00:15:19and needed to be equipped with God's armor

00:15:23to resist these forces.

00:15:25Now, the scriptures are clear about this.

00:15:27The New Testament frequently mentions demons and Satan

00:15:32to emphasize Jesus' authority over them.

00:15:36God has power over Satan.

00:15:39However, you know, we ourselves as people here on earth,

00:15:46we fall in that trap that I mentioned before

00:15:49to the Satan and his temptations.

00:15:54When I speak about temptations,

00:15:56I like to tell people that it starts first

00:15:58with the eyes, what we see.

00:16:00What is Satan going to do to the things

00:16:02that we see that are sinful?

00:16:04He's going to make them look so wonderful,

00:16:06so beautiful to the eye

00:16:08that you're not going to be able to resist.

00:16:10You know, as a man, temptation of a female,

00:16:14another woman, you know,

00:16:16Satan is going to intervene

00:16:17and make that woman so beautiful to you

00:16:19that you're going to want to desire it

00:16:21even though you may be in a marriage

00:16:23and you know this is wrong.

00:16:25Well, this is how Satan's temptation works in our lives.

00:16:29Then it goes into our mind.

00:16:32Once we see it,

00:16:33then we start thinking about it

00:16:34over and over and over again.

00:16:36And what does that lead us to sometimes?

00:16:39Adultery, pornography,

00:16:41these types of things seep into our minds

00:16:44and then into our hearts.

00:16:45And we could not be any further away

00:16:48from God at this point.

00:17:06The next instance I had

00:17:09was probably the strongest instance

00:17:11I had ever had with this sense,

00:17:15I guess you could call it.

00:17:17I was at work

00:17:18and we had somebody come into our work

00:17:23and I suddenly

00:17:27had this overwhelming feeling

00:17:29like I was being physically attacked.

00:17:31It felt like a physical attack.

00:17:33I saw this person

00:17:34and had to leave the room

00:17:36and run into the bathroom.

00:17:37And I started crying and panicking.

00:17:41And at this point in time,

00:17:42I had realized

00:17:43that this was a spiritual thing

00:17:45because I had already had

00:17:47that first encounter

00:17:48and realized that

00:17:49I am feeling something spiritual.

00:17:51And so I knew immediately

00:17:53when this person came in

00:17:54that something was evil on him

00:17:56or about him

00:17:57or that he was possessed.

00:18:00And I ran to the bathroom

00:18:02and started crying

00:18:03and had a breakdown.

00:18:05And I did my best

00:18:07to calm myself down

00:18:10and go back to work.

00:18:13But when I went to go

00:18:15describe the situation

00:18:16to a co-worker,

00:18:19I picked up my phone

00:18:21and was starting to explain

00:18:23to them what was going on

00:18:25with me spiritually.

00:18:27And as soon as I had started

00:18:28speaking about it,

00:18:30my phone started wigging out.

00:18:32It started pulling up pages

00:18:34very, very quickly.

00:18:37And then it pulled up

00:18:39my calculator

00:18:40and it stopped

00:18:40pulling up pages.

00:18:42It just pulled up

00:18:42my calculator.

00:18:43And all that was

00:18:44on my calculator

00:18:45was 6666666.

00:18:48And I absolutely lost it

00:18:51and I ran back

00:18:52to the bathroom.

00:18:54And that second time

00:18:56in the bathroom

00:18:56was the most terrifying

00:18:58moment of my life.

00:18:59I felt like I was

00:19:02in a horror movie.

00:19:04I felt like I was

00:19:06being physically attacked.

00:19:08I was hyperventilating.

00:19:10I felt like the room

00:19:11was spinning

00:19:12and I was curled up

00:19:13in a ball in the bathroom

00:19:15fighting an invisible force

00:19:19that I couldn't describe

00:19:21to anybody else.

00:19:23I don't know how I managed

00:19:25to pick myself up

00:19:26off the floor

00:19:27and get calmed down enough.

00:19:30But I realized

00:19:32something that day

00:19:33that was very,

00:19:34very important.

00:19:35I realized

00:19:37after

00:19:38after two or three days

00:19:41the reason why

00:19:43I was so

00:19:46feeling so physically attacked

00:19:48after that specific encounter

00:19:51was not only

00:19:53because I could

00:19:54see something

00:19:55I on this person

00:19:58but those demons

00:20:00realizing

00:20:01that I can see them

00:20:02and the demons

00:20:04got scared

00:20:06that I could see them

00:20:07and that's why

00:20:09they attacked me

00:20:10like they did.

00:20:11That's why

00:20:12they started coming

00:20:14after me

00:20:14like they did.

00:20:16That sudden

00:20:17fear feeling

00:20:18that sudden

00:20:19I'm in a horror movie

00:20:20and the walls

00:20:21are closing in feeling

00:20:22that was the demons

00:20:24realizing

00:20:24that I could see them

00:20:26and it scared them

00:20:27that I could see them

00:20:28because they don't want

00:20:29to be seen.

00:20:31They want to

00:20:32continue to operate

00:20:34behind people

00:20:37without

00:20:38us thinking

00:20:39that it's

00:20:41spiritual

00:20:42that it's a dark

00:20:44evil entity

00:20:45that it's just

00:20:47somebody

00:20:48a person

00:20:49a person

00:20:49being a person

00:20:50that it's not

00:20:52an actual

00:20:53dark force

00:20:54behind the work

00:20:56that these people

00:20:58are doing

00:20:58and again

00:20:59I don't know

00:21:00if this person

00:21:00was possessed

00:21:01I honestly feel like

00:21:03this particular person

00:21:04probably was

00:21:05because of how

00:21:06strongly I was

00:21:08attacked

00:21:10but I

00:21:11I know

00:21:12for a fact

00:21:13that those demons

00:21:14don't

00:21:14want me

00:21:16to see them

00:21:17they don't

00:21:18want

00:21:19me to

00:21:21know

00:21:21that

00:21:22they

00:21:22that it is

00:21:23them

00:21:23and not

00:21:24this person

00:21:25that is doing

00:21:26things

00:21:26when I was being

00:21:27attacked that

00:21:28second time

00:21:28in the bathroom

00:21:29those demons

00:21:31I felt

00:21:31were

00:21:33absolutely

00:21:34aggressive

00:21:35they were

00:21:37also

00:21:37terrified

00:21:38it's like

00:21:40a primal

00:21:40thing

00:21:40when you have

00:21:41an animal

00:21:42cornered

00:21:44that they

00:21:45start attacking

00:21:46you

00:21:47they were

00:21:48aggressive

00:21:49they were

00:21:50unrelenting

00:21:51they were

00:21:52absolutely

00:21:54intoxicating

00:21:55where they

00:21:56I felt like

00:21:56they were

00:21:57taking over

00:21:58entirely

00:21:59and

00:22:00it was

00:22:01the demons

00:22:01of fear

00:22:02and the demons

00:22:03of panic

00:22:03and the demons

00:22:04of anxiety

00:22:05and the things

00:22:06that we do deal

00:22:06with on a daily

00:22:07basis

00:22:07but I felt like

00:22:08it had been

00:22:08turned up to a

00:22:09level that I

00:22:10had never

00:22:11experienced

00:22:12before

00:22:12and it was

00:22:14them fighting

00:22:15because I had

00:22:16cornered them

00:22:16because I could

00:22:17see them

00:22:18they were

00:22:19extremely

00:22:20aggressive

00:22:20out of

00:22:21having fear

00:22:23themselves

00:22:23because I

00:22:25could see

00:22:25them

00:22:26or I

00:22:27could feel

00:22:27them

00:22:28I'd like

00:22:29to say

00:22:29that I

00:22:29can't

00:22:30physically

00:22:31see

00:22:31these demons

00:22:32but I did

00:22:33feel them

00:22:34on this

00:22:35person

00:22:35and they

00:22:36don't like

00:22:36that I'm

00:22:36aware

00:22:37that they

00:22:37exist

00:22:38the idea

00:22:39of demons

00:22:40dates back

00:22:42to the

00:22:43beginning

00:22:43of written

00:22:44history

00:22:45this goes

00:43:50of joy

00:43:51and fulfillment

00:43:54far off the deep end

00:43:58to enjoy

00:44:08has a hold

00:44:09on men

00:44:11has a hold

00:44:16these demonic forces

00:44:17don't care about

00:44:18your dreams

00:44:19your wishes

00:44:20your hopes

00:44:21your desires

00:44:29they tempt you

00:44:31they lie to you

00:44:34they sneak their way in

00:44:36and

00:44:36they take the reins

00:44:38of control

00:44:38leading you to believe

00:44:40that you're the one

00:44:42making the decisions

00:44:43when in reality

00:44:45it's the devil

00:44:46yes

00:44:47I 100% believe

00:44:50that demons

00:44:51exist

00:44:52they exist

00:44:54because

00:44:54for one important reason

00:44:56and I can tell you

00:44:57what my reason is

00:44:57through my studies

00:44:58as a student right now

00:44:59in Christian ministry

00:45:00I'm diving into

00:45:02a lot of scripture

00:45:03obviously

00:45:03and I'm one of the leaders

00:45:04in my church

00:45:06I will just tell you

00:45:07me personally

00:45:08about me

00:45:09some personalness

00:45:10about me

00:45:11I was saved

00:45:12by Jesus Christ

00:45:14I accepted the Lord

00:45:16when I was 13 years old

00:45:17I had been

00:45:18at a church revival

00:45:20at a small church

00:45:20in Virginia

00:45:22and

00:45:22when you're 13

00:45:23and 14 years old

00:45:26to walk through

00:45:27a crowd of people

00:45:29is very intimidating

00:45:30so on the third night

00:45:32of a revival

00:45:34I felt the Holy Spirit

00:45:35come into my heart

00:45:36and I know it was real

00:45:38so when it came

00:45:40into my heart

00:45:41I was bawling

00:45:42crying

00:45:42and what not

00:45:43and I was always

00:45:44sitting in the back

00:45:45and I walked

00:45:46from the back

00:45:47all the way up

00:45:47to the front

00:45:48and I led the pastor

00:45:49and prayed for me

00:45:50and I got saved

00:45:51when I was 13

00:45:52now what does this mean

00:45:54about demons

00:45:55getting back

00:45:56to your question

00:45:56now at 13 years old

00:45:59I felt I knew

00:46:00what had happened

00:46:01to me

00:46:01I felt the Holy Spirit

00:46:03but did I really live

00:46:04a righteous

00:46:05and holy life

00:46:06no

00:46:07not at all

00:46:08I personally

00:46:10my father at the time

00:46:11was an alcoholic

00:46:12I call him

00:46:13a weekend alcoholic

00:46:15great man

00:46:15doing the week

00:46:16never missed a day's work

00:46:17weekend

00:46:18from Friday to Sunday

00:46:21completely

00:46:23stayed intoxicated

00:46:24the entire time

00:46:24I'll just give you

00:46:26one brief story

00:46:26just to give you

00:46:27a background on him

00:46:28every Christmas

00:46:29he would get completely

00:46:33smashed

00:46:33at Christmas time

00:46:35and he would knock

00:46:37the Christmas tree over

00:46:37for our Christmas

00:46:38that was how

00:46:39our Christmas was

00:46:39that's how I remember him

00:46:42and I know

00:46:43that in his heart

00:46:44he was a good person

00:46:45but I know

00:46:46he was demon possessed

00:46:48because he let that

00:46:49demon

00:46:50get into his life

00:46:51and direct him

00:46:53to do these

00:46:54demonic things

00:46:55the forces

00:46:56overtake him over

00:46:57on the weekend

00:46:57because during the week

00:46:58he was a great dad

00:46:59Monday through Thursday

00:47:01he was a great father

00:47:02worked hard

00:47:03never missed work

00:47:04always provided for us

00:47:06but then

00:47:06he allowed that demon

00:47:08to come into his life

00:47:09on the weekends

00:47:10now the real reason

00:47:11I believe in demons

00:47:12is because of my belief

00:47:13in Jesus Christ

00:47:14and reading of the Bible

00:47:16the scriptures tell us

00:47:17over and over again

00:47:18you know

00:47:19to be mindful

00:47:20put on the full armor

00:47:21of God

00:47:22to protect us

00:47:23from the evil one

00:47:24and that's demons

00:47:25demons

00:47:26he even Jesus

00:47:27many times

00:47:28in the New Testament

00:47:29he would

00:47:31you know

00:47:32he would do

00:47:32he would heal

00:47:33a lot of people

00:47:34and he would remove

00:47:35demons

00:47:35from the people

00:47:36so I believe

00:47:37that the word of God

00:47:38is the 100

00:47:39you know

00:47:40is the absolute truth

00:47:41so that tells me

00:47:43that demons exist

00:47:44he even

00:47:45came onto a land

00:47:46with a guy

00:47:47that was full of demons

00:47:48for all these years

00:47:49and the guy

00:47:49never slept

00:47:50he just walked around

00:47:52all day in caves

00:47:53and he never slept

00:47:55because he was full of demons

00:47:56but when he saw Jesus

00:47:58come upon the land

00:47:59what did he do

00:48:00this possessed man

00:48:01full of demons

00:48:02he ran

00:48:02and fell

00:48:05at the feet of Jesus

00:48:06because he knew

00:48:07that he was Jesus Christ

00:48:08and Jesus

00:48:09told those spirits

00:48:11to come out

00:48:11now when we talk

00:48:13about demons

00:48:13and things

00:48:14they're not just possession

00:48:15of human beings

00:48:17demons possess animals

00:48:21everything living

00:48:22basically

00:48:22a demon

00:48:23can be

00:48:24can encounter

00:48:25and take over

00:48:26I've seen people

00:48:27that I feel

00:48:28that have been demon possessed

00:48:30and if you like

00:48:31I could just

00:48:32go ahead and tell you

00:48:35I fell away

00:48:36obviously from

00:48:37the Christian life

00:48:38when I was 13

00:48:40I became

00:48:40the last thing

00:48:41that I wanted to ever become

00:48:43I became an alcoholic

00:48:44just like my father

00:48:45because I saw the things

00:48:46that he did

00:48:46I would always say to myself

00:48:49the one thing

00:48:49I don't want to become

00:48:51is my father

00:48:52because he was very abusive

00:48:54not physically

00:48:55all the time

00:48:56but verbally

00:48:58to my mom

00:48:59and to me

00:49:00and my sister

00:49:01we were told

00:49:02many many times

00:49:03that we would never

00:49:05ever amount

00:49:06to anything

00:49:07you're never

00:49:08going to be anything

00:49:09and this was

00:49:10in a drunken state

00:49:11and these are not

00:49:12my father's words

00:49:13he would never say this

00:49:14if he was not

00:49:16possessed

00:49:17in some way

00:49:18by a demonic force

00:49:19I know that

00:49:20because these things

00:49:21he would never even

00:49:22think to say that

00:49:23to his children

00:49:23he loved us

00:49:24but when he was

00:49:26under this influence

00:49:26of alcoholism

00:49:27which was driven

00:49:28and manifested

00:49:29through demonic forces

00:49:32and Satan

00:49:34this is the type of things

00:49:35he would tell to us

00:49:37so my main thing

00:49:38was I would never

00:49:39want to be like him

00:49:40and then I woke up

00:49:41one day

00:49:43and I'm 43 years old

00:49:45at this point

00:49:46and I realized

00:49:48I'm going down

00:49:48the same path

00:49:49as my father

00:49:50is it the exact

00:49:52same demon

00:49:53I don't know

00:49:54if it's the exact

00:49:55same demon

00:49:56just from the things

00:49:58that I have read

00:49:59about demons

00:50:00and what not

00:50:00however

00:50:01there are some demons

00:50:02that are labeled

00:50:05all demons

00:50:06if you go back

00:50:07and do a little bit

00:50:08of history

00:50:08reading on them

00:50:09they all have names

00:50:10and ranks

00:50:11and what not

00:50:11and even

00:50:13some of their names

00:50:14mean certain things

00:50:15like this is the

00:50:16demon of pride

00:50:17this is the demon

00:50:19of temptation

00:50:20this is the demon

00:50:21and I don't even

00:50:23want to give them

00:50:24their names

00:50:24I don't want to say

00:50:25I'm here because

00:50:25it's not important to me

00:50:26but there are

00:50:27specific demons

00:50:28so to answer your question

00:50:30I don't know

00:50:30if it's the exact

00:50:31same demon

00:50:31but it may be

00:50:32the same demon

00:50:33that's over

00:50:33that type of

00:50:36possession

00:50:36of the mind

00:50:38of a person

00:50:38that I was

00:50:39under the influence

00:50:40myself

00:50:41so I had been

00:50:42trained somewhat

00:50:45in that same realm

00:50:47of being

00:50:48you know

00:50:49under the influence

00:50:50of that demonic force

00:50:52so I was drinking

00:50:5318 to 24 beers a day

00:50:59how I stopped

00:50:59and it's really

00:51:00a weird way

00:51:01I was not going

00:51:02to church

00:51:03I was not following

00:51:04Jesus

00:51:04I wasn't reading

00:51:05the Bible

00:51:05I was living

00:51:06a life of

00:51:06what

00:51:08Satan wants you

00:51:09to live

00:51:10he wants you

00:51:11to feel free

00:51:12that you're free

00:51:12in this world

00:51:13living by worldly

00:51:14things

00:51:15and worldly

00:51:15living my life

00:51:17according to the world

00:51:18going to bars

00:51:20drinking

00:51:22partying

00:51:22you know

00:51:24driving

00:51:24going to see people

00:51:25you know

00:51:26all kinds of things

00:51:27that I was doing

00:51:27worldly things

00:51:28and see when you

00:51:29take your eyes

00:51:30off of Jesus

00:51:30and you're doing

00:51:31worldly things

00:51:32these are the things

00:51:32that's going to

00:51:33happen to you

00:51:34so

00:51:35one night

00:51:36after

00:51:37Super Bowl party

00:51:38and I remember

00:51:39it distinctly

00:51:40because

00:51:40and you'll

00:51:41understand why

00:51:42in a minute

00:51:42in 2007

00:51:44I was coming

00:51:45from a Super Bowl

00:51:45party

00:51:46and I was driving

00:51:48and it was like

00:51:49two o'clock

00:51:49in the morning

00:51:50and a police car

00:51:52gets behind me

00:51:52and the blue lights

00:51:54come on

00:51:54I mean the blue lights

00:51:55in this particular case

00:51:56don't come on

00:51:57but I've had this

00:51:58happen to me previously

00:51:59so that's why

00:52:00it made me think of that

00:52:01but going down the road

00:52:02and I'm thinking to myself

00:52:04you know

00:52:04what does sometimes

00:52:05people do

00:52:06when they're still

00:52:07not following God

00:52:07but they believe in God

00:52:08but they're not following God

00:52:09and they're not doing

00:52:10the right thing

00:52:10first thing you want to do

00:52:11is you want to pray to God

00:52:13every time

00:52:15when you need God's help

00:52:16but we

00:52:17and I just want to say this

00:52:18before I go any further

00:52:19when we're praying

00:52:20we don't always

00:52:21have to pray

00:52:22when we're in the valley

00:52:24let's pray

00:52:25when we're on top

00:52:26of the mountain

00:52:26sometimes

00:52:27because we don't always

00:52:28want to just ask God

00:52:29for help

00:52:29when we're having problems

00:52:31we want to praise Him

00:52:32when we're on top

00:52:33of the mountain

00:52:33and I've been on top

00:52:34of the mountain a lot

00:52:35so I still pray to Him

00:52:36but what I said to Him

00:52:37in that moment

00:52:38I just want to get to the point

00:52:39I said to Him

00:52:40in that moment

00:52:41Lord

00:52:42if you just let me

00:52:43get home today

00:52:44I'll never take another drink

00:52:46I'll never take another drink

00:52:49and

00:52:50that was

00:52:5117 years ago

00:52:52and I sit here today

00:52:53saying I've never

00:52:54taken another drink

00:52:55now I don't know

00:52:56if that was in the right way

00:52:57to do it

00:52:57if that was the right way

00:52:58to do it at the time

00:53:00you don't have to make

00:53:01God promises

00:53:02let me be very clear

00:53:03about that

00:53:03God knows what's

00:53:04going to happen to you

00:53:05He's all knowing God

00:53:06He already knew

00:53:07what was going to happen

00:53:07in that moment

00:53:08and so

00:53:10I just want to make that clear

00:53:11it's clear that you don't have to

00:53:14ask

00:53:14or make a promise to God

00:53:16to do things in your life

00:53:17but

00:53:18what it did for me

00:53:19was made me

00:53:21understand

00:53:22that this life

00:53:23is not going in my

00:53:24in the right direction

00:53:25so

00:53:26and then even after that

00:53:28I

00:53:29you know

00:53:29I didn't follow God

00:53:30like I should have

00:53:31and

00:53:31but yes

00:53:32I do believe

00:53:34so that's kind of my story

00:53:36how

00:53:36and I

00:53:36and I was

00:53:38I felt that feeling

00:53:39that I mentioned

00:53:41you know

00:53:41it's something that overtakes you

00:53:43you know

00:53:43every time you want to try to do good

00:53:44there's something

00:53:44just there

00:53:46opposing it

00:53:47just as much

00:53:48and

00:53:48you know

00:53:48being a Christian

00:53:49is not easy

00:53:50being a Christian

00:53:51is not easy

00:53:52because

00:53:52to your second point

00:53:53to that

00:53:54if you're doing

00:53:55if you're partying

00:53:56and you're having a good time

00:53:57and you're drinking

00:53:58and you're sinning

00:53:59the devil will leave you alone

00:54:01he has no purpose

00:54:02to attack you

00:54:03you're already doing

00:54:03exactly what he wants to do

00:54:05but then when you turn

00:54:06your life over to God

00:54:06then it becomes hard

00:54:28themselves to people

00:54:41has a guardian angel
