00:00Subnautica 2 developer Unknown Worlds are keenly aware that a lot of players want to
00:04kill the various alien fish with a gun, but the devs say it's never going to happen.
00:09We have heard the strong request for more direct ways to deal with hostile creatures,
00:12including the ability to kill them, Unknown Worlds says in a Steam blog explaining its
00:16new commitment to creature balance.
00:18We understand where the request is coming from.
00:20Nevertheless, Subnautica 2 will remain an emphatically pacifist game, the developer
00:24confirms.
00:24Players point out that the first Subnautica game at least lets you craft a stubby utility
00:28knife to scare hostile sea life off, but Unknown Worlds is clearly eager to explore genuine
00:33pacifism in Subnautica 2.
00:35While Unknown Worlds' focus on pacifism does make underwater combat very one-sided, they
00:39do note changes are needed.
00:41We are actively working on improvements to creature behaviour and player mitigation tools.
00:45Upcoming changes will include adjustments to creature aggression timing, aggro range, flare
00:49effectiveness, survival tool effectiveness and creature interactions with vehicles and
00:53bases.
00:54Are you enjoying the pacifism in Subnautica 2, or do you think we should be granted weapons
00:58as the game's early access continues?
