00:00We're here in London with the shorter, wider Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, so let's
00:04open it up and see what it's all about. So colors, colors, colors, what color do we
00:08have? Oh, let's see. Oh, it is the lilac color. So as I said, the USP is that it's
00:17shorter, wider and stouter than the premium Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
00:21So on the front, you've got a 5.5 inch 4 by 3 display, 3 by 4 if you have
00:26it this
00:26way around. And when you open it up, let me take the plastic off. It's a 7.6 inch 10
00:32by 16 display, obviously 16 by 10 if you have it that way. So this is going to be
00:36better suited to YouTube, Netflix, essentially, you know when you're
00:39watching content and you have the two big black bars at the top, the black bars on
00:42this phone are going to be thinner than they are on the Ultra. So squarer, stouter,
00:47wider, only two cameras you'll notice. So it's a 50 megapixel wide, 50 megapixel
00:51ultra wide. There's no telephoto to speak of, so in the Ultra you'll get a
00:55telephoto and you'll also get a 200 megapixel main on the Ultra. But
00:59otherwise, the internals are pretty similar. It's a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
01:02chipset, so that's essentially the fastest Android chipset you can get at
01:05the moment. A 4800 milliamp silicon carbon battery, which is significant
01:10because Samsung hasn't yet brought a silicon carbon battery to any of its
01:13phones. So it's kind of caught up to the Chinese competition in that sense.
01:16That 4 by 3 inch, 5.5 inch display, 10 by 16, 7.6 inch display inside, 120
01:23hertz inside and outside. Opening it up, it's also got a new titanium flex hinge, so
01:28it's much more durable, it's sturdier. There's a new magnet, so when you open it,
01:31it's easier to open than the previous folds and it shuts nice and snugly there.
01:35As you can see the crease, it's still visible in certain sunlight, but it is
01:39markedly better than on the Z Fold 7. And like I said, it's the same hinges you'll
01:43get on the Z Fold 8 Ultra. So essentially, this is the phone to get if you're into
01:46content. Watching YouTube, watching Netflix, you can flip it up this way, watch your videos
01:51like that on the train, open it up. Gaming is also going to be improved in this sort
01:54of orientation, but it's not the productivity device that the Z Fold 8 Ultra is.
01:59That phone's got a slightly bigger battery and again, you're getting one slightly
02:02extra camera. So there you have it, the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
