00:05with a fellow inmate. TMZ broke the news that the incarcerated music mogul got into a fight
00:10with another inmate at FCI Fort Dix Federal Prison in New Jersey, where he's currently
00:14serving a 50-month sentence. Multiple sources told TMZ that the 56-year-old got into a scuffle
00:20and the inmates started pushing each other. An insider said Combs, quote,
00:23held his own during the fight. But after staff separated the two men,
00:26Combs ended up getting sent to solitary confinement. It's unclear at this time whether or not
00:31Holmes remains in the shoe, a term that went mainstream after being featured on the hit
00:35Netflix show Orange is the New Black. It stands for Special Housing Unit.
00:40Diddy was found guilty in July 2025 of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
00:45He was later sentenced that October but has suffered setbacks. Combs' initial release date
00:50was set for May 2028, but it got pushed back after he allegedly violated multiple rules
00:55at the prison facility. But since then his legal team actually got his release date moved up earlier.
01:00He's now eligible for release on February 23rd of 2028. In a statement to TMZ about the prison fight,
01:06an FCI Fort Dix representative told TMZ they are keeping details private. The statement read,
01:11We are not at liberty to disclose or provide internal information pertaining to any inmate in our custody.
01:17Such information would not be available for the public domain. The Federal Bureau of Prisons also said
01:22they will not comment on disciplinary matters or other information about any individual inmates.
01:27Combs' legal team continues to appeal his conviction. Just a few months ago his lawyers tried to dismiss
01:32the freak-off tapes that were evidenced in the case as amateur pornography, not sex crimes.
01:38His legal team also argued Combs was treated unfairly at his federal trial.
01:42Combs' lawyers are even going as far as to claim he deserves to be freed under the First Amendment.
01:47They argue that recording pornography is protected under freedom of speech.
01:50A three-judge panel is still deliberating Combs' latest appeal for freedom.
01:55And no date is set for a decision. One of the judges called it a quote,
01:59Exceptionally difficult case.
