00:00I had it in my mind that why only men leave property for the children.
00:04I wanted to leave a good amount of property or a heritage for my children.
00:10That's the mindset driving a growing number of women into India's financial markets.
00:15Across the country, women are joining investing communities to learn, share ideas and build wealth together.
00:22This group in Mumbai once used WhatsApp to organize playdates and birthday parties for their children.
00:29Today, the chat is filled with discussions about company earnings, market moves and portfolio comparisons.
00:35The mothers also meet once a month to learn about financial markets and discuss their investments.
00:41Women now make up one in four stock market investors in India.
00:45And online and in-person groups like these are popping up across the country.
00:50For many, these communities are their first step into investing, with guidance coming from fellow investors.
00:56We teach each other and help each other along the way whether we're making the right decisions.
01:02And because it doesn't come from some broker or it doesn't come from somebody who actually is an interested party,
01:09but it comes from somebody who we trust so much.
01:12India's surge in female investors reflects two converging trends.
01:15More women are investing around the world and more Indians are investing than ever before.
01:21The country's growing number of digital investment platforms have also reduced the barriers for entry.
01:27And for women like Manjusha, the results speak for themselves.
01:31As of now, I have a crore worth of portfolio maybe within 15 years of investments.
