00:13Hi, I'm Chloe with Refinery29 and today on IDIY we're going to be making friendship bracelets.
00:19They're going to be a little bit punk inspired and I'm going to be making one for my work BFF,
00:23Gabrielle, who's our beauty assistant here. So let's get started.
00:26What you'll need is embroidery thread, scissors, tape, some studs, a clasp, and jump rings.
00:34So for the first step, I'm going to take my embroidery thread and measure about two arms lengths
00:40and then cut the thread right there. And I'm going to make four of these for one bracelet.
00:45Once you've cut your thread, fold it in half, cross it, and then pull up through.
00:52Make a tiny loop. Tape. Now I'm just going to separate all the threads.
00:58Now for the knotting part, we're going to be making the same knot over and over again.
01:03So once you figure it out, it's going to be a process of repeating it twice all throughout the different
01:08threads.
01:09So I'm going to take the left thread and cross it over the one next to it.
01:12Knop it under, pull it through, and that's just a knot. I'm going to pull it all the way to
01:17the top.
01:18And then pull back down and do that again.
01:22And I find it helpful to tape the piece you're working with so you can see which one it is
01:27as you go across the bracelet.
01:29And I'm just going to follow this sequence all the way to the end.
01:32Once you get to the end, I'm going to take the tape off and then switch to the other side.
01:39You'll just want to keep braiding all the way through from left to right until you get to the desired
01:44length that you want.
01:45Just go ahead and tie a knot at the end here.
01:48Next, I'm going to take my jump rings. You can actually open these ones without pliers.
01:53I'm going to take my clasp and just fit it on to the jump ring.
01:58Click one through the end here and then the other side.
02:02And now for the studs, which is the fun part.
02:05Place your studs and kind of figure out how many you want and the spacing.
02:10Trim the end here.
02:11So I think this is ready for me to give to my bestie now.
