Explore how underwater robotics is enabling deep-sea exploration, offshore inspections, marine research, and underwater operations beyond human limits.

00:00To go where no man has ever gone before, as this is.
00:09And why in that domain underwater robotics?
00:13What occurred to me that water is the most important resource
00:17and it's going to become more and more scarce.
00:19So we have to build systems to look after water.
00:23For example, if I take an example of a reservoir monitoring,
00:26then the dam has to be scanned manually.
00:28This work goes on for four or five days.
00:31So now with this autonomous system
00:33and where as the robot or the board does the work for itself.
00:36Previously again, it used to be done by divers.
00:39Drivers are inherently, it's a dangerous job.
00:42There is a limit in time for which a driver can operate in a day.
00:46So by using a robot, these limitations go away.
00:49So you can do the work better, faster and more efficiently.
00:54If you see today, we can reach with a robot
00:58where possibly the humans could not reach yesterday.
