00:01If it's anything like day one, it's going to be a pretty highly stage-managed affair.
00:06Today, the Labor is really returning to kind of classic territory of health, housing, skills.
00:12But the one debate we're sort of looking out for is around gambling.
00:15It remains a really divisive issue within Labor about just how far the government's
00:19going to reduce gambling harm.
00:22Legislation before Federal Parliament seeks to impose a partial ban on gambling ads.
00:26That policy is largely reflected in the meaty ALP national policy platform, but there
00:32is a push from the left to go further and get the party effectively to commit to stronger
00:37action, even possibly a national regulator.
00:41Now, as late as last night, the left members were negotiating whether an amendment might
00:46be put to the floor today for debate.
00:49The Prime Minister is strongly opposed to any changes to the wording that's currently in
00:53the platform.
00:54And I understand at this stage that it's unlikely that it will go to a debate to actually strengthen
01:00the wording.
01:01So it's likely to be another pretty smooth day here with not a lot of fiery debate on the conference
01:08floor.
