00:04hub to house AI data centers and warehouses, voting in line with opposition from local
00:09residents. Bloomberg's Erin Hudson joins us now with more. So why is this particular vote
00:13significant? Isn't this just one local zoning dispute? Yeah, so this vote has been widely
00:18watched and it's kind of taken on a symbolic nature. It's sort of representing the challenge
00:24of the AI era and a little more detail about the proposal. This project, if it had been built,
00:30would have been among one of the largest data centers operating in the U.S. and it would have
00:35generated millions of property tax revenue for the county and the county staff recommended approving
00:42it with conditions. So the fact that the commissioners, the county rejected the proposal
00:46in a state like Florida that has really gone out of its way in a county like Palm Beach that
00:51has been
00:51trying to attract technology investment, it really does send a message and speaks to the power that
00:57local authorities have on determining whether or not these facilities go forward. And the interesting
01:02thing to all of this is that opposition to data centers has become bipartisan in Florida. Why is
01:08that? Yeah, so this is one of those issues that the blurring of the political lines is occurring. And
01:14in Florida, part of part of it is that for Republicans, it's about protecting the taxpayer costs, local
01:22control. For Democrats, it's about environmental concerns, transparency, and it lands lawmakers in
01:30alignment in one of those rare scenarios. And we are actually seeing that across the country as well.
01:36Both blue states and red states are sort of dealing with these issues in similar ways and approaching it
01:40and talking about it the same way. So it's just speaking again to how the tides are sort of shifting
01:47on data center.
01:48And I think it's about the community and it's about the media and it's about the
01:48right now. And we're not sure if they're considering, and we're not sure they're raising their
