00:00President Trump was in Georgia Wednesday to rally supporters ahead of this fall's midterms.
00:03They're right around the corner. He spoke on a whole host of issues that are going to matter
00:07in the voting booth come November. Iran, immigration, and affordability among them.
00:11But at one point said this. The radical left is actively trying to destroy our children's
00:17future with the disaster known as communism. It's communism.
00:25This isn't a social democrat. These are communists.
00:30By another name, right?
00:31The president has been warning about communism a lot more lately,
00:34and a new poll suggests Americans are growing more concerned about it.
00:37According to a new Economist YouGov survey, two-thirds of Americans say communists pose
00:42at least some level of threat to the United States, with nearly one in five calling it a major threat.
00:47The poll also asked voters which politicians they consider socialists. And before I get into that,
00:52just a quick note. Socialism and communism are similar left-wing ideologies, but they are,
00:58at their core, different. Now, with that said, more than half of those surveyed said New York City
01:04Mayor Zorahim Memdani and Senator Bernie Sanders fit that bill of socialist, while 45 percent said
01:09the same about Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. California Governor Gavin Newsom was identified
01:14as a socialist by 20 percent of respondents, while 27 percent said the same of former Vice President
01:19Kamala Harris. Not surprisingly, the poll also found a sharp partisan divide. Most liberal voters said
01:25communism does not represent a threat, while a majority of very conservative voters said it poses
01:30a major threat to the country.
