00:22One morning, Sir Topham had arrived at Tidmouth Sheds.
00:26It had been raining hard.
00:29Muddy Puddles were everywhere.
00:32Today is the Sodor Farmer's Fair.
00:36One of you must collect Farmer McCole's sheep and take them to the fairground.
00:42Whichever engine takes the sheep will have his photograph taken.
00:47The photograph will be on the front page of the Sodor Daily newspaper.
00:53James' firebox fizzed.
00:56Please, Sir, can I take the sheep and have my photograph taken for the front page?
01:02After all, I am the cleanest and brightest red engine on Sodor.
01:08Very well, James.
01:10You must go straight to Farmer McCole's farm.
01:13The fair starts at tea time.
01:16You mustn't be late.
01:17So James chuffed off cheerfully.
01:22Farmer McCole was waiting for James at the farm.

01:27Katie and my sheep are washed and ready to go.
01:30I want them to be the cleanest and smartest animals at the fair.

02:14There were two tracks to the fairground.
02:17One track was wet and muddy from the rain.
02:20The other track was old and bumpy but dry.

02:26Farmer McCole told me to take the fast, flat track.
02:30But if I do that, I will get dirty.
02:33And so will Katie and the sheep.
02:36Then, no one will want to put our photograph on the front page of the newspaper.
02:42So, James didn't take the fast, flat, wet track.
02:47He took the bumpy, dry track instead.
02:50James jumped and juddered along the bumpy track.
02:55Bobbling boilers!
02:57This track is very bumpy!
03:01The sheep in the trailer jiggled.
03:03And the lock on the trailer gate rattled open.
03:08But James didn't know.
03:10He was too busy being the proudest and cleanest engine on Sodor.
03:16At Marin Station, James saw Emily collecting passengers.
03:21James wanted to tell Emily all about his special.
03:25He steamed to a stump.
03:28Hello, Emily.
03:29I'm taking Farmer McCole's sheep and his dog, Katie, to the fairground.
03:34I'm going to have my photograph taken for the front page of the daily newspaper.
03:39Emily gasped.
03:41Oh, my, James!
03:43How grand!
03:45Will Katie and Farmer McCole's sheep be in the photograph, too?
03:48They might be in the background.
03:52Then there was trouble.
03:54The sheep pushed open the unlocked trailer gate.
03:58They clattered onto the platform.

04:02The sheep are running away!
04:03Oh, fenders and fireboxes!

04:08But the sheep weren't listening to James.
04:11They didn't want to go back in the trailer.
04:14Katie barked.
04:15James was stern.

04:19You must stay clean in the cab.
04:21I will find the sheep.
04:25And James seemed slowly forwards until he saw the sheep munching grass at the end of a field.
04:34The fastest track to the end of the field is wet and muddy.
04:39I shall take the long track there and stay clean for the photographer.
04:45James was pleased with his plan.
04:48So, he chuffed carefully away on the very long track.
04:53He puffed up just as the last sheep was moving away.
04:58Bother!
04:59Katie barked.
05:01James snorted.
05:02No, Katie.
05:04You must stay clean.
05:06I have another good idea.
05:08We will take the long, dry track to find the sheep.
05:15James huffed to a halt by a field.
05:18The sheep were chewing the grass.
05:21Katie was happy to see her sheep.
05:24She barked and barked.
05:26James smiled.
05:27Well done, Katie.
05:29My plan is working.
05:30When you bark, the sheep will come to you in my cab.
05:35All I have to do is wait and be clean.
05:40Soon, all the sheep had gathered by James.

06:08I promised I would keep the sheep clean, and now they are dirty.
06:13I promised to take them to the fair, and now they are running away.
06:18I wanted to have my photograph on the front page of the Sodor newspaper.
06:23And now, no one will want my photograph.
06:28James sighed.
06:30Then, he heard a rattle on the track.
06:33It was Thomas and Percy.
06:35Hello, James.
06:37We're off to the fair.
06:39Farmer McCall is waiting for you there.
06:41He is very excited to see his sheep in the show.
06:44And Thomas and Percy whooshed away.
06:48Farmer McCall is waiting for me to bring Katie and his sheep.
06:52I cannot let him down.
06:55It doesn't matter if we're dirty.
06:58We have to be there.
06:59Katie barked.
07:01She could see the sheep running away to the farm.
07:04Run and round up your sheep, Katie.
07:07I will whoosh down the muddy track to meet you by the farm.
07:12So, James' driver let Katie go.
07:15And James whooshed like the wind down the muddy, wet track.
07:20Soon, James was no longer James the bright red engine.
07:25He was James the muddy, messy one.
07:27But James didn't mind.
07:30James pulled up to Farmer McCall's halt.
07:34Katie and the sheep were waiting for him.
07:37They were covered in mud.
07:39But James didn't mind.
07:41All aboard for the fair!
07:45Now, I will whoosh like the wind down the fast, flat, and wet track.
07:54At last, James arrived at the fairground.
07:57He was covered in mud from fender to footplate.

08:10A hard-working engine with his sheep and sheepdog straight from the fields!
