00:02My name is Megan Bowditch. I'm the co-owner and director of Free Patisserie. I'm a pastry chef.
00:08I have been a pastry chef for about 10 to 12 years now, I think.
00:14I've lost the count of how many years I've been there before.
00:18We're pretty lucky in South Australia. There are quite a few. I know Emma Shearer at the Loslo.
00:24Gabby's floor at Shear Oak. And there's a couple more small bakeries that are female owned, run and operated.
00:36I think that there's so many other things to focus on rather than making something look perfect for Instagram.
00:43I have a big believer in making sure we're using really quality product,
00:47making sure we have a really great culture in our business,
00:50that we're creating longevity for everybody as well.
00:54I think it's really important to get women and I think just generally people into pastry.
00:59I think it's more so for me, I think showing people, females, girls,
01:06that you can be a pastry chef, have a business and sort of, I guess, see it as a career
01:14path
01:15or like for a picture.
01:17They play show people that you can have a long-term career in being a pastry chef or a baker.
