00:22There may be too many cooks in the MasterChef Australia kitchen because a beloved judge on
00:27the show is reportedly upset after Meghan Markle's recent appearance. According to Sky News,
00:33an on-set request the Duchess made while filming left beloved MasterChef judge Po Ling Yao upset.
00:39The episode was taped earlier this year, and Yao accidentally introduced Markle as, quote,
00:45royalty during her guest judge appearance. Po Ling Yao said the show, quote,
00:49had MasterChef royalty in the kitchen before, but no one like this. But according to Sky News,
00:54Markle and her team insisted producers not claim she's royalty. The show went on to introduce her
01:00formally as the Duchess of Sussex. Australia is part of the British Commonwealth, and Markle lost
01:06access to her royal highness title when she stepped down as a senior working member of the royal family.
01:12Markle was reportedly left, quote, very frustrated by MasterChef Australia introducing her as a royal,
01:18which then upset judge Po Ling Yao. The insider claims it wasn't about Markle personally,
01:23but said Yao felt she was being dragged into a royal protocol issue she didn't want to be a part
01:28of.
01:28An insider said Yao tried to tell some jokes to lift the mood on set, but said not all of
01:33it landed
01:33as she intended. The report says a lot of those moments were cut out of the final edit of the
01:38show.
01:39All eyes will be on Markle's episode of MasterChef Australia, which airs Sunday, July 26.
