00:11But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
00:17Romans 5 verse 8
00:19Because God loves you so much, he sent his Son, Jesus.
00:24Jesus lived a perfect life.
00:26He never sinned.
00:27Then he died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins.
00:31Three days later, he rose from the dead.
00:35Because Jesus is alive, we can be forgiven and have a relationship with God.
00:40That is the best news ever.
00:43Remember how we learned that sin has consequences?
00:47The amazing thing is that Jesus took those consequences for us.
00:51Imagine you accidentally broke your neighbor's window while playing baseball or soccer.
00:57The window costs a lot of money to replace, and you know you can't afford to pay for it yourself.
01:03That would be a lot of your birthday money or allowance.
01:07Then your mom or dad comes along and says,
01:10Don't worry.
01:11I'll pay for it for you, and you're not in trouble.
01:14The window is still broken, and someone still has to pay the cost.
01:19But instead of you paying for it, your mom or dad pays it for you.
01:23That's what Jesus did for us.
01:26Even though we were the ones who made mistakes, Jesus chose to take our punishment so we could be forgiven.
01:33Jesus paid it for you because he loves us so much.
01:36Now, because of what Jesus did, we can be part of God's family, have a friendship with him, and spend
01:43forever with him.
01:44That's why Jesus is the greatest gift God has ever given us.

01:50How does it make you feel to know Jesus loves you that much?
