00:00as the Angels are trying to, what, go three in a row here?
00:04Like, what's going on?
00:05The Angels all of a sudden, and our boy that we talked about yesterday,
00:09Reed Detmers, who I would not be shocked if this is his last start
00:13in an Angels uniform here as the trade deadline approaches.
00:17But all of a sudden, the Cardinals, they can't hit left-handed pitching
00:21and maybe a little dose of reality coming back down to life here
00:27as this has not been a great road trip for them, to say the least.
00:31No, I thought that the Cardinals would take care of their business
00:34against the Angels and it hasn't gone that way.
00:36I think it's fair to say, Joe, the Cardinals are playing their worst baseball
00:39of the season at the least opportune time because that front office
00:43has to make a decision what they're going to do next week
00:45as far as either add, subtract, or do nothing.
00:48And I think it may be trending now the other way, Joe.
00:51You know, with the way that the Marlins have played lately, like I said,
00:54all of a sudden, you've got the Pirates and the Diamondbacks
00:57in much better spots than they were a week ago.
01:00So, look, we're going to come right down to the wire on all this stuff.
01:03I don't anticipate anything happening this weekend,
01:05maybe not even early part of next week, too.
01:08There's just so much uncertainty heading into this thing.
01:11And, yeah, I mean, look, the Brewers today, 4-2.
01:14That's pretty much a wrap when the Brewers have a lead like that
01:16late in the game.
01:17They just go to those guys in the bullpen, and that's usually it.
01:20So we'll keep an eye on that one as well.
01:22And, look, as far as Washington and Colorado goes,
01:25if there's one pitcher that can really defy some of those odds
01:29in that game, in that environment, it is Cade Cavalli.
01:32I mean, Joe, Cade Cavalli, I think next year going into the season
01:36will be one of those, you know, 45-1 Cy Young Award guys
01:41that you kind of put in there a little bit at the beginning of the season
01:44because he's a – I know – look, he may not be the most well-liked guy
01:47after some of the stuff that's gone on.
01:49But, Joe, he is a really strong pitcher, and I think they've got a good one
01:53for years to come there.
01:54They just got to fill out the rest of the rotation.
01:55Not easy to do.
01:57Yeah, Griffin has been a – listen, starting pitching,
02:01they've done a pretty good job.
02:03The bullpen's still a hot mess right now for the Nationals
02:07and probably will be for the foreseeable future.
02:09But we mentioned it yesterday, third best in Major League Baseball
02:14on the road this year.
02:16They have been great, and I mean great, for those that have backed them
02:21on the road all year long.
02:23But they are going to need that bullpen at some point to come in
02:26and hold the lead.
02:27Absolutely.
02:27But a big single, I think they just got two more across.
02:31So 3-0 now gives them a little bit of a cushion in that spot there.
02:36I don't care.
02:36I don't care.
