00:00On the first day of our administration, after inauguration, I went to meet with a number of
00:05tenants who live in a building that is controlled by a real estate organization where they have
00:15filed complaint after complaint after complaint. And I went into one of the tenant's homes,
00:22and she showed me her bathroom. And it was just rust falling off the pipe, falling off the ceiling.
00:30And I asked her how long she'd been living with us. And then she turned around and she pointed
00:33to her son. And she said longer than he'd been alive. And he was more than 20 years old.
00:37And we made the decision to file a lawsuit on behalf of those tenants. Just by virtue of filing
00:45that lawsuit, we got the next owner to agree to remedy all of the violations at that building
00:53and other buildings owned by that same real estate organization. And that, to me, shows the worth of
00:58fighting. Because if you aren't willing to fight, it means you will never be able to win.
