00:00¡Ay! ¡Oh, Dios mío!
00:04Nos amamos chismesitos. ¿Sabes qué es chisme? Es un gosip en español.
00:10¿Telenovela?
00:10Sí, es un telenovela, exacto.
00:13Sí.
00:13¿Cuál equipo eres tú?
00:15¿Quieres saber?
00:16¡Vamos a ver!
00:16¡Vamos a ver!
00:17¡Vamos a ver!
00:18¡Vamos a ver!
00:19Y así creo que es por eso que es tan dramático y tan caliente,
00:24porque hay mucho en suerte, no solo un argumento en la mesa.
00:30No, no, no, no.
00:31No, no, no.
00:31No, no.
00:31I mean, I married my niece, it's like...
00:33To be fair.
00:34Well, it's amazing to have you here, guys.
00:37I gotta say that I am a huge fan of, well, first of all, I'm Cristina.
00:40Nice to meet you.
00:42And I kinda say that I think that in Mexico we're big fans of the Game of Thrones,
00:46House of the Dragon Universe.
01:01¡Oh no!
01:03¡He mató a ella!
01:04Y, ¿sabes?
01:04¡He cheirá a ella!
01:06Telenovela.
01:06Sí, es una telenovela.
01:08Lo he visto desde la última entrevista.
01:10Creo que esta historia es often framed
01:12como War of the Throne,
01:14pero realmente se siente como un conflicto familiar.
01:16Conflicto que escaló
01:18Beyond Control, ¿sabes?
01:19So, while reading the script
01:21and while being on set,
01:23¿Did you see your character
01:25more as a political player
01:27or as someone reacting emotionally
01:30to family or personal wounds?
01:33I think you can't,
01:35you can't sort of,
01:38you know, unravel the twine.
01:41I think it is so interconnected.
01:43You know, they're a political family.
01:45And so I think that's why
01:48it gets so dramatic and so heated
01:50because there is so much at stake.
01:53It's not just an argument
01:54across the dinner table.
01:56It's whether a civil war is going to happen.
01:59It's amazing, the storytelling, you know,
02:01the showrunners behind this story.
02:04In every season, I'm always like,
02:07it couldn't get better, you know,
02:08and it get better.
02:10So I think that one of the things that it always get better
02:13is because fans tend to pick sides.
02:16And this is so funny because you're like in your living room
02:20with your family saying, no, no, no, I'm team black, I'm team green.
02:23I mean, it creates like human connection.
02:25Which team are you?
02:27You really want to know?
02:28You're in a green top.
02:29You're green, are you?
02:30Yes!
02:31Are you?
02:32Come on.
02:32And they're like, okay, yeah.
02:34As you're like, girl, green nails.
02:35Yeah.
02:36Yeah, my green nails.
02:37You just said we were like,
02:39I've barely met any team green people anywhere.
02:42And we've had two today.
02:43We just needed to come to Mexico.
02:44Mexico City's where it's at, man.
02:46I think that the show makes it hard to define who's right.
02:50And that's amazing because again,
02:52you could be team black and then you could be team green.
02:55So was there a moment where you personally disagreed
02:58with your character's choices and reconsidered your side?
03:01Never.
03:02Never.
03:03No, no.
03:04I mean, of course, but I mean,
03:06like we were talking about this earlier,
03:07it's like as an actor, like your job in a way
03:10is to sort of be on the character's side.
03:12And if you start overly like,
03:14if you get outside of the story too much,
03:17it's like because you're kind of representing them in the world.
03:20Yeah.
03:21Once emotions get involved,
03:23we're so emotionally connected with our characters
03:24because we have to be as actors that sometimes there's no,
03:28you know, empathizing or seeing the other person's perspective.
03:32Even though the morality is obviously dodgy.
03:36But have you ever watched the show like later and changed side
03:40or you're still like, as audience, never?
03:43I can't separate.
03:44No, me neither.
03:46I can't help but see anything that team Black do
03:49and I'm like, well, fuck them, man.
03:51Yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:52That's awesome.
03:52You have to be loyal to your...
03:54Yeah.
03:54All the way, man.
03:56Of course.
03:56You're watching me like...
03:57I am now.
03:58Yeah, it's changed.
03:59Yeah, that's right.
04:00You're giving me a little bit.
04:02It's changed, man.
04:03That's right.
04:04You should change your shirt next time.
04:06Yeah, that's right.
04:07Well, I have another question, guys.
04:08I think that what makes this story so compelling
04:11is that it doesn't start with villains
04:13but with people who feel hurt, overlooked or betrayed.
04:17So would you say that the magic of House of the Dragon
04:20and Game of Thrones lies on that moral complexity?
04:24And at what point do you think your character crosses the line
04:27from being justified to becoming dangerous?
04:31My act.
04:34I mean, I married my niece.
04:36It's like...
04:37To be fair.
04:38It's kind of all downhill.
04:39To be fair.
04:40Yeah, yeah.
04:40But I guess the point that you're alluding to is a really good one.
04:44It's like, you know, in this sort of ambiguity,
04:47the drama of it is really fabulous.
04:50And actually, I guess it's just really rewarding
04:52to sort of sit in the weeds of all that as an actress.
04:56Yeah.
04:56But look, my character is essentially immoral.
05:00I love him for that.
05:02Over to you.
05:03Yeah, no, I think, you know,
05:05we can definitely see the moral complexities
05:08but I think what makes Game of Thrones
05:10and hopefully House of the Dragon work
05:12is that you have, you know, this magical realism
05:15with different beings and you've got dragons
05:18but I think what makes it really work
05:20is how it's grounded in reality
05:22with the interpersonal relationships
05:24like we all experience.
05:25And I have a final question.
05:27It is a soft one.
05:28Nice.
05:29If House of the Dragon was just a modern day family drama
05:33with no dragons or crowns,
05:36what would finally break this family?
05:38You know, a group chat league,
05:40a messy inheritance, you know?
05:43Our family dinner.
05:45Yeah, yeah, a DNA test.
05:46Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's right.
05:47Yeah, yeah, yeah.
05:49That's got to go down badly, isn't it, in the modern world?
05:51Yeah, yeah.
05:52The DNA test.
05:53There's that bit in Succession, isn't there,
05:55where like Logan Roy changes,
05:57where they find out the will's been changed.
05:59You know, there was like a last minute change to the will.
06:02Yeah.
06:02I think that could do it.
06:03It's a shame, isn't it?
06:04Because I would like to see a sort of Christmas dinner.
06:07Yeah, yeah, it'd be great, wouldn't it?
06:08You know what I mean?
06:09Like all begrudgingly turning home.
06:11Yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:11Both the boys your side.
06:13Yeah.
06:13Yeah.
06:13We would have a lot and be like,
06:15we've got to go.
06:15Yeah, here we go.
06:18Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's right.
06:20Yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:20And you're the soul.
06:21Bring that bottle of wine they like.
06:23Yeah, yeah.
06:23Well, thank you guys so much for your time.
06:25I gotta say that I love family drama.
06:28I love this series.
06:29I love you guys.
06:30You're amazing.
06:31And you're going to have a lot of fun.
06:38Rhaenyra se acerca.
06:42Ya no estás seguro aquí.
07:14todo sufre.
07:25Has llegado muy lejos.
07:26Y aún así no sabes quién eres.
07:32No te advertí
07:35que acabarías así.
07:56Ya.
07:57La iglesia de la Iglesia.
08:04Gracias.
