00:10Motor Vehicle Commission incorrectly registered about 6,600 non-citizens to vote between 2023
00:16and 2024, and that approximately 400 of them went on to cast ballots. The governor said the
00:21registrations included Democrats, Republicans, and unaffiliated voters. She insisted there's
00:26no evidence that the mistake changed the outcome of any election, but called the failure unacceptable
00:31while pinning the blame, at least partially, on her predecessor. And it's unacceptable that no one
00:37in the previous administration brought this to light, demanded accountability, or took action
00:42when it happened years ago. The revelation comes not long after President Trump cited New Jersey
00:47during a primetime address on election security, claiming thousands of non-citizens had been
00:52improperly registered to vote. The governor says the state has hired an independent law firm to
00:56investigate the breakdown. She also plans to replace the software that caused the error in the first
01:01place and is working to remove ineligible voters from the rolls while notifying everyone who's affected.
