00:00The story begins on a freezing highway, where an office bus is transporting a group of employees
00:05to a skiing resort. Along the way, the bus gets into an accident, and everyone on it passes away.
00:11After dying, all of the employees wake up in a blank space, where they form lines to prepare
00:16for reincarnation. Among these employees is a man called Arihito, who looks around and realizes that
00:22all his co-workers passed away with him. He is greeted by a receptionist, who gives him a phone
00:28and tells him to ask a guild for a job once he has reincarnated. Although he doesn't completely
00:33understand, the woman pushes him into a new world, in a place called Labyrinth Country. The country was
00:39built during medieval times, so Arihito looks extremely out of place with his office clothes
00:45among the common folk. He visits the guild to get a job, where he finds one of his former co
00:49-workers,
00:50Shiremiya. She registers for a job as a shrine maiden and turns around to leave. She encounters
00:56a woman called Alidia, who asks her to join her party. Shiremiya explains that she's new to the
01:01world, so Alidia nods since she knows about the new reincarnation. However, she explains that her
01:07abilities as a vanguard make it difficult for rearguards to keep up with her, so she needs a
01:13new teammate. Watching her try to recruit Shiremiya, some bystanders begin to make fun of Alidia.
01:18Although they think she is strong, they tell her that her team would never work because Alidia has a
01:23strange condition. Despite their discouragement, Shiremiya accepts her offer, so Alidia smiles and
01:29leaves with her. Then, the receptionist asks Arihito if he wants to register. She introduces herself as
01:35Luisa and explains that in this country, a person is not allowed to enter their labyrinth unless they
01:41are a registered seeker. Arihito understands her words, but he asks her to explain more about the
01:47country itself. Luisa smiles, explaining that the people who die and reincarnate are sent to Labyrinth
01:53country to live as seekers. Together with the world's native people, it is the seeker's job to
01:58explore the Labyrinth. Realizing that he had truly died, Arihito gets a headache from the shock of this
02:04new world. Concerned, Luisa asks if he needs a healer, but he reassures her he's fine. He then asks her
02:11about the registration, so Luisa explains that he has a blank job description on his phone. She asks Arihito
02:17to fill in the job description that he thinks is best for him, explaining that their country lets
02:22everyone perform the tasks they are most suited for. Arihito nods, thinking that he should pick a
02:28job that is in high demand in this country. Luisa smiles and waits for him to think it over.
02:33Recalling his previous life, Arihito thinks about his young boss, Igarashi, who used to make him
02:39overwork all the time. Forced to obey his corporate master, the poor man was stressed by her ramblings all
02:45the time. Now, in this world, he has gotten the chance to choose whatever job he wants. So he decides
02:51to do
02:52something relaxing for his own sake. Suddenly, Igarashi appears behind him, startling the poor
02:57guy. She gets annoyed by his reaction, and says that the medieval world feels like a giant cosplay
03:03party to her. Still, she accepts her fate since there's nowhere else to go. Igarashi also makes a
03:09casual comment that she wasn't expecting to hunt monsters, which surprises Arihito, since he knows
03:15nothing about them. She explains that defeating monsters is actually an important job given to
03:20seekers in this world. She warns him to pick his job and party very carefully, or else he could lose
03:26his life in the dangerous labyrinth. Then, she wonders what job Arihito has picked. From her time
03:31as his manager, Igarashi is used to relying on him for help. She shyly hopes that he can pick a
03:37job
03:37that would synergize with her class. So Arihito starts sweating bullets, thinking that he's going to
03:43become her punching bag in his new life. As he asks what job she picked, Igarashi notes that he's still
03:49speaking to her in formal terms. She feels upset that he's being so distant, hoping that they could
03:54get closer. However, she swallows her pride and refuses to say it out loud. She tells Arihito that
04:00her job is Valkyrie, so she can wield swords and spears along with spirit magic. He's surprised by the
04:07number of abilities she picked, but she thinks that having multiple roles could save both her life and
04:12job in this unpredictable world. She also tells Arihito to ensure he picks different roles to avoid getting
04:18replaced by someone else. He thanks her for the advice, saying that he'll be careful when joining
04:24a team. Igarashi is surprised by his distant response, since she expected him to form a team
04:29with her. However, Arihito is denser than a rock, so he keeps missing her hints. Eventually, she gets
04:35disappointed and leaves. After she leaves, Arihito wonders why she was behaving so strangely. Luisa then
04:42reminds him that he still hasn't picked a job. To help him decide, she explains that he can earn
04:47contribution points through his job. In their world, seekers can earn points by collecting
04:52valuable treasure, defeating strong monsters, and saving other seekers. Aside from acting as a source
04:58of money, contribution points are also used to rank seekers on the Labyrinth leaderboard. After
05:04explaining this, Luisa tells Arihito that his phone will record all of his actions within the Labyrinth.
05:10She reveals that a seeker's ranking is extremely important, since it determines their status within
05:15the country. While high-ranked seekers can enjoy a luxurious life, lower-ranked seekers can essentially
05:21become broke and be forced to live in a stable. Hearing this, Arihito decides to take his job
05:27selection even more seriously. From the earlier incident, he overheard how about rearguards,
05:32so he asks if it's an in-demand job. Luisa nods, explaining that while rearguards are important
05:38roles, they receive less HP and defense than Vanguard and other roles. So not many people can be a good
05:44rearguard.
05:45Because of this shortage, there's high demand for rearguards in most parties. After thinking about
05:50it, Arihito figures that rearguard is the best pick to avoid going jobless, wondering which special
05:56skills he should pick as a rearguard. He writes the word on the phone screen. Suddenly, the phone's
06:01screen flashes brightly, and Arihito's writing gets completely garbled. Luisa is surprised by this
06:07and takes a look at his phone. She puts on her glasses and concentrates hard, trying to understand what
06:13happened. In the end, she simply hands the phone back to Arihito and claims that his job request
06:19was successful. Naturally, Arihito realizes that she's only pretending to be in control and asks her
06:25what really happened. In a sheepish tone, Luisa tells him that normally, whatever a person writes
06:30is accepted by the application. This is the first time she has seen these garbled characters,
06:35so she has no idea if Arihito has received a proper rearguard role or not. She also warns him that
06:42the
06:42application might have given him some random abilities, realizing that he might never get
06:47into a party with random abilities. Arihito is completely stunned. Thankfully, Luisa takes some
06:53responsibility for his situation and gives him a free mercenary card so he can recruit a teammate
06:58for himself. Afterward, he looks at the phone in his hands to examine his abilities. He learns that
07:04he has a defense support skill, along with an ability called rear view that allows him to see what's
07:09behind him. After some time, he thinks about spending some level up points on his recovery
07:14support and defense support abilities. He then decides to check the city store for potions and
07:20healing items before leveling up his recovery support. Eventually, he only levels up his defense
07:25support skill. After that, he visits the mercenary office. He asks the vice chief, Layla, what he can get
07:32with his mercenary ticket. She explains that he can get a demihuman servant with the ticket,
07:36so Arihito wonders if he can get a vanguard user. Layla tells him that she only has one vanguard at
07:43the moment, who happens to be a female lizardman. She tells him that this lizardman is a rogue who is
07:48capable of carrying decent equipment, so she would be enough for his first trip to the labyrinth.
07:53Hoping to test his skills soon, Arihito asks her to get the lizardman for him. While Layla leaves
07:59to fetch the demihuman, he wonders if the lizardman would look like a gross monster. To his surprise,
08:04the lizardman girl, called Derja, is actually a human-looking child. As Layla introduces her,
08:10she explains that Derja was once human, but she turned into a demihuman after dying in the dungeon.
08:15In their world, all seekers who die suffer the same fate. Once they transform into demihumans,
08:21they lose their former personalities and the ability to talk. Now, they are only useful as slaves.
08:27Arihito feels bad about owning another person, but Layla reminds him that demihumans don't have
08:32their own personalities anyway, so it's legal to use them. She also reveals that they can fight
08:37using their instincts, so he won't need to guide her for every fight. Arihito finally accepts her
08:43explanation and greets Derja, hoping to form a successful party with her. Still, while heading
08:48for the labyrinth, he decides he won't force the little girl to fight. After testing out his defense
08:53enhancement skills, he hopes to come back to the city. Soon, he reaches the entrance to the
08:58labyrinth's first level, called the Field of Dawn. Some experienced adventurers greet him,
09:03thinking that he looks similar to a Japanese Valkyrie who came here earlier. Arihito realizes
09:08that they're probably talking about Igarashi and figures that she has already formed a party.
09:13The seeker leader, called Ribalt, explains that he rescues stranded seekers from the labyrinth for a
09:19living. Arihito returns his greeting, curious to know if the labyrinth is really as dangerous as it
09:25sounds. He explains that the dungeon has some real dangers, but as long as Arihito sticks to the
09:31low-level monsters, he'll be fine. However, he warns him to avoid named monsters at all costs.
09:37Arihito learns that aside from normal monsters, named monsters have special titles and carry
09:42powerful abilities. Anytime a named monster encounters a novice, it is automatically a death
09:48sentence for them. Ribalt warns him to stay far away from named monsters, so Arihito thanks him for the
09:54advice. Ribalt then tells him to contact him at any time if he needs help. He explains that many other
10:00search parties constantly patrol the dungeons, but they can occasionally miss some people.
10:05Arihito accepts all his advice, then heads down into the labyrinth with Derja. Inside,
10:11he finds a lush field filled with natural streams. After a little walking, he encounters a strange
10:17cotton ball that rolls up to him. Arihito checks his phone to see if it's a monster, but the cotton
10:22ball
10:22starts spinning at mock speeds. Derja notices its movements immediately, so she draws her dagger
10:28while Arihito is distracted. Since the cotton ball is just a level 1 monster, Arihito doesn't feel
10:34worried. Suddenly, it shoots towards him at a blinding speed, but Derja blocks it with her dagger.
10:40The impact from the attack blows him to the ground, and he is shocked to see that the monster actually
10:45injured Derja. Despite her injuries, she continues to defend her master. As Derja's HP bar keeps going down,
10:52Arihito decides to make a move. He uses his defense support skill, which helps her completely block
10:58the cotton ball's attack. While the monster is being held back, he alerts Derja to attack it on
11:03his signal. He then attacks the monster with a slingshot, which gives her the chance to kill it
11:08with her dagger. Although Arihito feels happy with his victory, he gets upset by Derja's injuries.
11:14He asks her if they should leave to help her recover, but she shakes her head. Then,
11:18he apologizes to her and thanks her for protecting him. As Arihito promises to support her in the
11:24future, he hears a woman screaming in terror. After checking out the noise, he finds Igarashi
11:29and her teammates facing off against a powerful monster. Quickly, Arihito descends to help her,
11:35while Igarashi's teammates complain about their bad luck for encountering a named monster so soon.
11:40Suddenly, the named monster, called Redface, lunges towards Igarashi, and Arihito shouts at her
11:46to take cover. Reacting to the monster, Igarashi uses her Valkyrie skill, Mirage Step, to avoid its
11:53attack and save her party members. However, after being escorted to safety, one of the adventurers
11:58she just saved uses a teleport scroll to leave the labyrinth. As the scroll is activated, it teleports
12:04the man and his teammate out of the dungeon, but leaves Igarashi behind. Seeing this, Arihito realizes
12:10that Igarashi actually wasn't in their party, so she just saved them out of kindness while they left
12:16her behind. He jumps in to help her against the monster, but Igarashi tells him to stay behind.
12:21He ignores her warning and attacks Redface with his slingshot, but the small pebble does zero damage
12:27to it. Igarashi turns around and uses a thunderbolt spell, but even that completely fails to hurt the
12:33monster. Then, it starts spinning into a ball and shoots towards her for an attack. Watching her take
12:39a defensive stance, Arihito realizes that she's out of energy for using Mirage Step again. Although Igarashi
12:45tries to parry the attack, Redface avoids her spear and instead attacks her with a dive bomb.
12:51Arihito quickly tries to use defense support to help her, but the spell fails to work since she's
12:56not a member of his party. The attack connects brutally, and Igarashi is sent flying to the
13:01ground. Then, Redface lurches towards Arihito, so there's a jumps in to defend him. Arihito quickly
13:07uses defense support again, which works and completely stops the monster's charge. Seeing that his skills
13:13are capable of blocking the monster, Arihito feels guilty that he didn't accept Igarashi's offer to
13:19team up back then. Nearby, Igarashi weakly urges Arihito to run for his life. She apologizes for
13:26being too weak, but he returns an apology of his own for failing to protect her. Then, he focuses on
13:32the monster, since his defense support can fully block its attack. Arihito thinks that Derja can kill
13:37the creature if he buffs her with his attack support skill. He tells Derja to get ready,
13:42so when Redface tries to attack Igarashi again, she steps in to block it. As she rushes to attack
13:48the monster, Arihito buffs her strength with his support magic, allowing her to chop up the beast
13:54with one blow. Once the monster is defeated, Arihito heaves a sigh of relief. Nearby, Ribold notices the
14:01fight, so Arihito tells Derja to call him for help. She agrees, but as Arihito tends to Igarashi's
14:07injuries, she notices a strange glow coming from her chest. Arihito looks at his stats. Learning
14:13that he has leveled up after defeating Redface, he covers Igarashi's exposed body with his jacket
14:18and supports her. He then asks her to join his party so he can use his recovery support skill
14:24to heal her wounds. Igarashi smiles at his care, but she doesn't refuse his offer. After tending to
14:30her, he walks over to the dead monster and tucks it into his inventory. Behind him, Ribold and the
14:35others carry the injured Igarashi away. Then, Alidia also appears with Suzuna, surprised by the
14:42commotion. Arihito explains that they just had a run-in with a named monster, which leaves her
14:47shocked. Usually, a red-faced cotton ball is strong enough to destroy level 3 parties on its own,
14:53so it's extremely surprising that the level 1 Arihito defeated it with just his mercenary.
14:58Impressed by his abilities, Alidia introduces herself to him. Suzuna looks over, wondering if the injured
15:04person is someone who reincarnated with them. Arihito nods, but he reassures her that Igarashi
15:10will heal because of his recovery skill. Hearing this, Alidia is surprised once more, since rear
15:16guards usually do not get to access a large variety of support skills. Arihito understands that a well-rounded
15:23rear guard like him is very rare, but he refuses to elaborate, since he doesn't want Alidia to recruit
15:29him. He turns around and leaves, returning to the mercenary guild to hand Derja over. Leila tells Derja
15:35to return her weapons before going back, so she nods. However, the young girl hesitates before leaving,
15:41wanting to say something to Arihito. Leila notices her strange behavior and wonders what she wants.
15:47Suddenly, Derja places her hand on his chest before returning to the guild. Both Arihito and Leila are
15:53incredibly surprised. Leila explains that Derja has taken a liking to him, so he wonders if he can
15:59recruit her as a permanent member. Hearing this, Leila is even more surprised. Usually, she does not let
16:05anyone buy permanent members unless they are trustworthy. Seeing how much Derja likes him, she
16:11decides to trust him and reveals that it'll take 100 copper tickets to fully buy Derja. Although the price
16:17seems high, Arihito thinks it's well worth it, since Derja was extremely helpful during his quest.
16:23Later, he returns to the Adventurers Guild to report his progress. Feeling worried since he
16:28encountered a named monster, Luisa feels relieved upon seeing him. Arihito shows her the defeated
16:34red face, so she reveals that it was a bounty monster. The reward for defeating it is 20 gold coins,
16:40while Arihito also earned 280 contribution points for the kill. Seeing this, she is incredibly shocked,
16:46since it took her killing 50 cotton balls to only get 105 points. Arihito also notices that
16:53he received 50 trust points, so she explains that these are points he gets from helping others,
16:58although trust is not a metric that can be quantified. The system awards trust points as a
17:03rough estimate of an Adventurer's trustworthiness as they help other Seekers in need. Usually,
17:09a Seeker cannot gain more than 5 trust points per expedition. However, Arihito somehow gained 10 times
17:16the amount, so Luisa wonders what kind of incredible feat he pulled. Hearing this, he wonders if he gained
17:21those trust points because of his good treatment towards Therja. Luisa also explains that a Seeker's
17:27trust points determine how quickly their contribution points can grow. Hearing this,
17:32he realizes that he'll grow in trust points very quickly, since a rear guard provides support to
17:37both the vanguards and the midguards of the party. However, Arihito feels worried that he might get too
17:43popular and end up attracting too much attention. He asks her to keep his overpowered class a secret.
17:49She stops, understanding that unnecessary fame could cause trouble for him, and promises to keep
17:55it a secret. She also explains that Arihito has risen into the top half of the Seekers living in
18:00their district, which means he gets to live in a brand new suite. She informs him that Igarashi
18:05has also woken up, so he leaves to visit her. Igarashi thanks him for saving her life,
18:10saying that he'll experience a huge rise to fame with his abilities. She compares herself to him,
18:16thinking that she was a complete failure in contrast. Although she picked a flashy class,
18:21she failed to recruit any team members and got defeated by a monster. However, Arihito doesn't
18:26think that way. He tells her that it was extremely cool of her to defend the other Seekers and stand
18:32her ground against an undefeatable foe. He also points out that he got extremely lucky in his first
18:37fight ever, so he didn't just defeat the named monster from pure skill. Then, he asks her to join his
18:43party. Knowing that his former boss has incredibly high demands, Arihito feels nervous, thinking she
18:49might not accept. Hearing his words, Igarashi turns away in embarrassment. He thinks that she's
18:55rejecting him, so he prepares to leave, but Igarashi softly agrees to join his party. Then, she asks him
19:01to stop calling her chief, since they're not co-workers anymore. Arihito smiles, accepting her
19:07request. A few days later, Igarashi has recovered, so they explore the city together. Along the way,
19:13they find a store, so Igarashi goes in to check some clothes out. Watching her pick clothes,
19:18Arihito feels surprised, since he has never seen her without office clothes. She smiles,
19:24embarrassed, explaining that she always had to return home early after work. Although she was
19:29a working adult, her parents always controlled her life, so Igarashi was put on a curfew at night.
19:34Because of this, she tried her best to move up the ranks and gain a position where her parents
19:40couldn't order her around. Now, in this new world, she can make her own choices. Arihito
19:45is interested in learning this new side of his manager. Igarashi apologizes for putting so much
19:50stress on him in their past life, so he smiles and forgives her. Now, he wants her to look towards
19:56the future since they've begun a fresh start as party members. As the two of them have dinner,
20:01Arihito overhears some seekers in their discussion. Apparently, Illidia is related to someone called
20:07the Death Sword, and she is visiting their district from outside. According to the adventurers,
20:12she is recruiting novice seekers and training them up to take on a certain job. Also, she left a top
20:17party called the White Knight Brigade and escaped from them. One of the seekers says they should take
20:22advantage of the opportunity since a high-ranking seeker like Illidia must have plenty of money.
20:28However, the boss quickly cuts him off, warning that someone might overhear them in the crowded
20:33restaurant, so the group drops the conversation. Later, Arihito returns home and invites Igarashi
20:39to stay with him since he has been given a large suite. The two sleep on opposite sides of a
20:44curtain,
20:44but later that night, Igarashi becomes restless. She peeks over the curtain and asks Arihito to turn
20:50away. For some reason, she feels embarrassed whenever he's facing her. Arihito agrees, but then he
20:56realizes that his recovery support skill has connected him with her. If the skill is still active,
21:03creating some warm feelings in Igarashi's heart for him. After learning this, he decides to get a
21:08separate bed for her as soon as possible. The next morning, he heads out with Igarashi for another
21:14expedition. Once again, he rents Thereja for her services. As Igarashi meets her, she tries to
21:19introduce herself. However, Thereja remains silent, so she wonders if she did something wrong.
21:25Arihito smiles, explaining that Thereja just doesn't talk to anyone. Then, they head into an equipment shop
21:31and obtain some custom items built with Redface's materials. Later, in the labyrinth, Thereja stands
21:37with a new red buckler that reduces fire damage. Igarashi has equipped a defensive scarf, while
21:43Arihito has enhanced his slingshot to fire flame pellets. With their new equipment, they face off
21:48against a bunch of weaker monsters. After taking down a cotton ball, the group faces some poison bees.
21:54Arihito tells Igarashi and Thereja to get information and enhances their defense with
22:00his support skill. Then, they all take down the monsters together. After a while, they reach the
22:05entrance of floor 2. Although Arihito wants to gain points to permanently purchase Thereja,
22:10he feels afraid that the stronger monsters would hurt his party members. Recently, news of a named
22:16monster has been going around on floor 2, which makes the trip even riskier. Arihito turns around to
22:22leave, but they suddenly hear a woman screaming from the other side. Quickly, everyone rushes to the
22:27second floor. There, they find Suzuna and Alidia faced off against a massive fanged orc and poison
22:33bees. Although Alidia is able to kill the orc, the bees surround Suzuna. Seeing this, Arihito tells his
22:40party members to lure the bees away. He tries to shoot one of them with a fire pellet, but the
22:45bee is
22:45too far to hit. Thankfully, Thereja reaches it just in time, so Arihito gives her cover with his
22:51defense support, allowing her to kill the bee from safety. Then, Igarashi kills another bee with a
22:57thunderbolt. As the monsters are defeated, Suzuna collapses from relief. She feels bad that she
23:02dragged her captain down, but Alidia thinks she did a great job lasting against the previous floor's
23:08monsters. Arihito understands that Alidia was helping her defeat stronger monsters to gain experience
23:14quickly. However, he thinks this approach is too dangerous for a newbie like Suzuna. Alidia shakes her
23:20head, saying she doesn't have time to wait. After she wants Suzuna to become as strong as her,
23:25she blurts out that she needs it to return somewhere. Although Alidia stops herself from
23:30saying too much, Arihito calls her out. He wonders if she's talking about the White Knight Brigade,
23:35which stuns her into silence. Alidia explains that she doesn't want to return to the White Knight
23:40Brigade. Instead, she wants to return to her friend, Misaki, who was lost on the second floor.
23:46It turns out that Misaki had chosen a gambler class for herself, thinking she had good luck.
23:51However, while she was adventuring with Alidia, she opened a chest, hoping to find some good loot.
23:57Unfortunately, the chest contained a teleport trap, which teleported her away to a random spot
24:02on the floor. Although Alidia doesn't know her location at the moment, she thinks that the trap
24:07would only be limited to the second floor itself. Hearing her story, Igarashi recalls how scared she felt
24:13when her friends abandoned her against Redface, thinking that Misaki is feeling the same way.
24:18She tells Arihito that she wants to help her. He asks Alidia if there are other parties on the
24:23second floor who can help. She shakes her head, explaining that although she saw no other parties,
24:29she felt like she was being watched by someone. Igarashi wonders why this floor is so suspicious,
24:34and Arihito thinks that the suspicious guys in the tavern must have something to do with it.
24:39Still, without knowing their plan, he knows they can only go in blind. Arihito wonders if they
24:45should split up to cover ground quickly. However, this would put the individual groups at a much
24:50greater risk if they encountered a monster horde. In the end, he decides to move with everyone.
24:55He asks Alidia and Suzuna to join their group, explaining that he can't support them as a rear
25:00guard without being a party member. Alidia thinks about his offer. Knowing that Arihito's abilities
25:06are genuinely worth considering. She tells Suzuna to join his party, saying that she'll fight alone.
25:12Otherwise, her higher level would cause the rest of their party to gain fewer experience points.
25:17Arihito agrees with her plan, but then he recalls her complaining about the Vanguard class. He wonders
25:23what the downside is, so Alidia tells him to leave her behind and escape with the party if she ever
25:28says
25:29so. Arihito nods, knowing that he shouldn't push her for further explanation. She also explains that
25:35Suzuna has a return scroll, so he can use it to escape a dangerous situation. After discussing
25:40everything, she asks Arihito to lead the way. Then, Suzuna formally joins his party and introduces
25:46herself to everyone. Even there, she holds out a hand for her, so she rushes to shake it. Afterward,
25:52they all start walking through the second floor. On the way, Arihito thinks it's a pity that Alidia
25:57couldn't join his party, since her powerful abilities would become even stronger combined with his
26:03support. Suddenly, a woman's loud shriek breaks his train of thought. As everyone hears it,
26:08Suzuna points out that the voice belongs to Misaki. In front of them, the terrified girl passes out from
26:14fear as a massive horde of orcs surrounds her. Towering over all the other orcs is a massive creature,
26:20which Arihito recognizes as the named monster, Juggernaut. Alidia notes that Juggernauts are
26:26extremely powerful named monsters that shouldn't be anywhere near the second floor. Clearly,
26:31someone has led this monster down here and set up Misaki as a trap for Alidia. Hearing this,
26:37Arihito realizes that the kidnappers must be nearby. Regardless of the trap, Alidia wants to
26:42save her friend, so she rushes to kill the orcs. Using her impressive sword skills, she takes out
26:48several of the orcs in one attack. However, as the blood from the orcs splashes into the air,
26:53a murky aura surrounds Alidia's body. Suddenly, her entire demeanor changes and she starts growling
26:59with rage. Igarashi and the others get ready to help her, but Alidia shouts at them to stay back.
27:05Wondering what's wrong, Arihito looks at his phone and learns that Alidia actually holds the berserker
27:11skill. This skill activates when she comes into contact with another creature's blood, increasing
27:16her strength and speed but causing her to lose control due to rage. Seeing this, Arihito finally
27:22realizes why she was so reluctant to join his party. Meanwhile, Alidia shouts at the air, screaming that
27:28she's not a murderer. In her crazed state, she jumps at the Juggernaut to kill it on her own.
27:33However, the monster's tough skin blocks her attack, as if it were made out of thick steel.
27:38Then, the Juggernaut uses its brutal voice skill, which stuns Alidia and everyone else with powerful
27:44sound waves. As Alidia struggles to regain her bearings, the Juggernaut easily picks her off the
27:50ground. Although she tries to struggle, she's clearly too weak to break out. Thinking she's doomed,
27:55she yells at Arihito to forget about her and run away with everyone. He knows that it would be
28:00extremely easy to return with the teleport scroll. Naturally, he won't just leave his friend to die.
28:06Arihito uses his blazing slingshot to shoot the Juggernaut's eyes. Although the pebble doesn't do
28:11any damage, the monster gets irritated and drops Alidia from its grip. It tries to attack her again,
28:17but this time, she's able to dodge it and get away. Then, Arihito tells the rest of his party to
28:22be
28:22prepared to run if things go south. None of them agrees to leave him behind, so he tells them to
28:28remain alert. Then, he thinks of a way to defeat the Juggernaut. Although none of the party members
28:33can withstand an attack from it, Alidia is able to dodge them. Thinking about this, he realizes that
28:39she has the greatest chance of defeating the monster. Arihito asks Alidia to join his party.
28:44Even if it's just temporary, he tells her that his rearguard abilities can help them win.
28:49Soon, he gets a message on his phone informing him that Alidia has joined. Then, he quickly tells
28:55Alidia to use a high-speed attack with multiple blows. Although she cannot break through the
29:00Juggernaut's defenses on her own. This time, Arihito enhances her attack by a whole 10 points.
29:06With the boost from Arihito's support, Alidia rains down a shower of devastating attacks on the
29:12Juggernaut, causing it to scream in pain. Then, it starts bleeding from its entire body and collapses
29:18to the ground, dead. After the monster is defeated, everyone starts to celebrate. However,
29:23Arihito reminds them that the trap setters are still nearby. As Alidia pants on the ground,
29:28Arihito spots the suspicious men from the tavern hiding nearby. Realizing that they've been found,
29:34one of the men tries to attack Arihito with his crossbow. However, Suzuna and Igarashi easily block
29:40his arrows. The men are clearly shocked, but they don't get any time to react as there's a rushes in
29:46and takes them out. Suzuna is surprised that her aim improved so much. So, Arihito reminds her that
29:52his support skills carried her all the way. Then, he checks on Alidia, who thanks him for the help.
29:58Noting her exhausted condition, Arihito uses his recovery support skill to help her. He tells her
30:04to rest easy since Misaki has been saved. Alidia smiles, relieved that her friend is okay. On her own,
30:10she wasn't confident that she could save her. But thanks to Arihito's help, everything turned out
30:15fine. Soon, Misaki wakes up and finds Suzuna waiting for her. Without waiting for her to say
30:21anything, she jumps into her arms and starts crying from relief. Meanwhile, Alidia apologizes
30:27to Arihito for not being clear about her own background and abilities. At the moment,
30:32she feels overwhelmed, so she promises to explain everything later. Then, Arihito goes over to check
30:38the juggernaut's corpse. In its hands, he finds a black chest. Seeing this, Alidia explains that most
30:44named monsters do not drop black chests. Because of their rarity, a black chest is one of the most
30:50valuable treasures in the labyrinth. In fact, Alidia warns Arihito not to open the chest on his
30:56own. Because of the great loot inside, black chests can come with dangerous traps. Because of this,
31:02Alidia tells Arihito to find an official chest cracker at the guild to disable the traps before
31:07opening his chest. He nods while Misaki comes over to thank him. After going through this traumatic
31:13experience, she has decided to be more careful during her journeys in the labyrinth. However,
31:18the young girl suddenly changes gears and asks Arihito to treat her to a nice lunch to help her
31:24forget her trauma. Although he's weirded out, the rest of the girls ask to eat as well. So he has
31:29no
31:30choice but to agree. As everyone plans to return home, Arihito tells Derja that he'll drop her off at the
31:36mercenary office. However, she refuses to leave. Seeing this, Igarashi thinks that she wants to
31:42eat with them. Derja moves closer to Arihito, causing Misaki to admire her cute lizard hat.
31:48Later, they return to the guild to report their expedition to Luisa. The poor woman almost faints
31:53after hearing the name, Juggernaut. Arihito casually explains that he killed the monster to save Misaki,
32:00so she tells him to join her in a private room. There, she serves tea and explains that not all
32:05named
32:05monsters are created equal. Juggernauts are a type of named fanged orc, and they happen to be one of
32:11the strongest named species. A little while ago, a group of parties with over 24 seekers had tried to
32:17kill a Juggernaut for its loot. However, most of them died, and only the ones who survived were led by
32:23the man called Burgen, who later tried to trap Misaki. Hearing this, Arihito understands that Burgen's
32:29group used Misaki as bait, hoping to make Alidia kill the Juggernaut, as she would become exhausted
32:35from the fight. Burgen and his cronies would swoop in to steal the loot. Thankfully, Arihito was there,
32:41so they got arrested and turned in instead. Luisa reassures him that Burgen's group will face justice,
32:47since the guild also acts as a police force for their district. Arihito asks her if the Labyrinth
32:53Country has a king, so she shakes her head. She reveals that this country is ruled by the Cathedral
32:59and the guides of the Adventurers Guild. Hearing this, Arihito wonders if it's the policy of the
33:04Cathedral and guides to make reincarnation seek treasure for them. She nods and also explains
33:10that the different floors of the Labyrinth exist somewhere else in the world. However, for some
33:15unknown reason, only the Labyrinth Country has the entrances that can teleport people to these floors.
33:20After this, Luisa refrains from speaking further, clearly not wanting to reveal too much. Then,
33:26she takes a look at all the contribution points gained by Arihito on this trip. As she goes over
33:31the details, she realizes that he basically gained a bajillion contribution points, as well as a new
33:37bunch of trust points from Alidia, Suzuna, and his own party members. In fact, Arihito now has so
33:44many contribution points that he ranks second in their entire district. Hearing this, Luisa is beyond
33:49impressed. Arihito thanks her for the praise, but suddenly, Misaki bursts in and demands dinner.
33:55Hearing this, he asks Luisa to join them as well since she's also a friend. She smiles,
34:01happily accepting his offer. Later that night, at the restaurant, the girls fight for spots to sit
34:06next to Arihito. In the end, it's Misaki who sits without hesitation, and there's Ja, who silently
34:12slips right next to him. Once everyone has sat down, Arihito orders dinner. Then, he tells everyone
34:18that after they're done with dinner, he will visit the mercenary office to purchase Deja's freedom,
34:23making her a permanent member of his party. As Deja listens, surprised, he announces that he'll do
34:29everything he can to help her regain her human body. That was episode 3. Subscribe to not miss the next
