00:00All of a sudden, the political left has a new favorite boogeyman, greedflation.
00:04It's a way for them to blame corporations for rising prices while ignoring the inflationary
00:10consequences of their own policy.
00:12Corporations can be exploitative and sometimes price things unfairly.
00:18However, it's an absolutely crazy concept to suggest that just suddenly in the past
00:23couple of years, corporations discovered greed.
00:25Instead, we're living through a period where, quite recently, our politicians did a bunch
00:30of very inflationary things that are bad for the economy and were inevitably going to make
00:34prices go up, such as indiscriminate spending on stimulus and also artificially lowering the
00:40interest rate.
00:41But politicians don't want to talk about that because it's much snappier and more engaging
00:44to talk about greedflation to make it sound like these corporate villains in boardrooms
00:49are raising prices on innocent Americans.
00:51In all reality, greed is constant, but inflation is not, and blaming the former for the latter
00:56makes absolutely no sense.
