00:01New York Mayor Zoran Mamdani has said the city lacks the authority to carry out the
00:07International Criminal Court's arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,
00:14but urged U.S. federal authorities to do so should he visit the United States.
00:20It is clear that we do not have the independent legal authority to enforce this warrant.
00:24The federal government, however, does, and I call on them to join the ICC and execute this warrant.
00:31And I want to be equally clear. Benjamin Netanyahu is not welcome in New York City,
00:35nor is any other war criminal at large. While we cannot end the genocide on our own,
00:40we can decide whether our silence will become another weapon, and we can examine every tool
00:45we have to defend the humanity and dignity of all people. The ICC issued a warrant for the
00:53Israeli Prime Minister's arrest in November 2024, alleging responsibility for war crimes,
00:59including starvation as a method of warfare, intentionally directing an attack against
01:05the civilian population, and accusing Netanyahu of a number of crimes against humanity.
01:11Meanwhile, Netanyahu's office has dubbed the ICC a kangaroo court and called the warrant against
01:18the Israeli leader Bogus. On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump said Netanyahu will
01:23not be arrested in any way, shape or form while in the United States of America.
