Luverne, Minnesota, now boasts the world's tallest nutcracker, Verne the Patriot, standing at over 65 feet. The quirky landmark, located off Interstate 90, was unveiled Saturday at a rock shop called Those Blasted Things.

00:00Today we are celebrating the official finishing of the world's largest nutcracker.
00:05Betty Mann had a large collection of nutcrackers in her house and people were taking bus tours to her house
00:13to visit her nutcracker collection.
00:15And at the time she was president of the Historical Society in Rock County.
00:19So she donated her collection of nutcrackers to the Historical Society.
00:23So in 2016, I went to my board and I said I have this crazy collection.
00:29I would donate it and maybe it will draw people into our museum.
00:33And I donated $2,500.
00:36As of today we have in our collection $7,554.
00:42Well I hope that it will go on.
00:46People seem to be interested to see the biggest guy.
00:50And we hope that it continues on to be a drawing to get people to come to see our little
00:56town.
00:58We're here for the nutcracker unveiling of Verne.
01:02Nutcrackers is something Francine has been collecting for about 30 years.
01:06And I just felt it was important for her to come down, you know, meet other like-minded enthusiasts.
01:12And I had a pleasure of meeting Betty earlier today.
