01:31Haini, how important is this technological progress in reshaping the global balance of power?
01:40It is extremely important.
01:43What we're seeing now is a competition between the United States and China in the technological sphere,
01:51particularly in the AI sphere.
01:53The U.S. has some advantages in the processing of advanced semiconductors.
01:58China has others in the area of it is more electricity and also in data centers.
02:05So it's pretty much an even field and it's going to determine very much the course of the world in
02:14the years to come.
02:16Could this become a new form of diplomacy similar to China's Belt and Road Initiative that we've seen,
02:23but centered around artificial intelligence?
02:26Absolutely.
02:28The Belt and Road Initiative evolved its initial idea about physical infrastructure connectivity towards digital connectivity.
02:41And it seems to me that AI is the next step in that direction.
02:46There is a huge digital divide that we are seeing the opening of a new AI divide.
02:51And in that sense, what China is putting on the table, working together with countries on the global south on
02:59trying to limit that divide is very important.
