If this special Taipei delicacy isn’t on your vacation itinerary, then allow us to convince you. In this video, we traveled to a small Taipei restaurant to taste test the braised pork buns. Pork belly and rice are stuffed into a pillowy bao bun, which makes this a great meal on-the-go while you walk the city streets.

00:02This is Yijiaji.
00:04They specialize in soy braised pork belly over rice or stuffed in a bao.
00:07We got here 10 minutes before opening and there was already a huge line,
00:10so be prepared to come early.
00:11We got the guabao, which is a steamed pillowy bun packed with thick pork belly,
00:14cilantro, mustard greens, and peanut powder.
00:16The meat was like butter and that nutty peanut powder finish was so addicting.
00:20We also got the ruofan, which is the same pork belly but minced over rice with pickled cucumbers.
00:24Simple, classic, and the cucumbers are the perfect vessel to cut through the richness of the pork belly.
