00:12Welcome to Beyond the Game. The Bolsa is pure Spain are world champion once again. La Roja
00:18captured the second FIFA World Cup title after defeating Argentina 1-0 in a dramatic extra-time
00:23final. The decisive moment came early in the second period of extra time when Ferran Torres
00:28found a breakthrough with the only goal of the match and in a tense battle between two
00:32football powerhouses. Spain dominated possession from the opening whistle dictating the tempo
00:37and constantly searching for a way through Argentina's defense. The reigning South American
00:41champions remained resilient for much of the contest frustrating Spain with a compact defensive
00:47display however could not find any built-up play reaching the 115th minute without shooting
00:53at goal, the worst in World Cup history. Only after conceding did Argentina push forward
00:59in a search of an equalizer but Unai Simón and the Spanish defense held firm until the final
01:04whistle. Spain are champions of the world once again lifting the trophy and adding a second
01:09star above their crest after a performance defined by patience, control and relentless attacking intent.
01:24Forran Torres was named the superior player of the match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final after
01:29delivering the goal that crowned Spain world champions. The Spanish forward scored a decisive
01:34strike early in the second period of extra time breaking the deadlock against Argentina and securing a
01:391-0 victory. Torres was a constant attacking threat throughout the match and his composure in the
01:45defining moment earned him the game's highest individual honor as Spain celebrated its second World Cup title.
01:57And Spain's World Cup champions have returned home to a hero's welcome after lifting football's biggest prize.
02:03Captain Roddy and head coach Luis de la Fuente proudly held the World Cup trophy as the squadron
02:09arrived in Madrid. The team is first scheduled to meet King Philip VI at the Sarsuola Palace before
02:15making its way through the Spanish capital on an open top bus parade from Moncloa to the iconic
02:21Civelles Square. Organizers expect nearly one million supporters to join the celebrations,
02:26capping a historic day for La Roja as the newly crowned world champions share the triumph with the nation.
02:39People in the Spanish capital shared their joy-filled emotions the morning after Spain won the men's
02:44football world cup. It's the first World Cup final I've ever experienced. It's very special to me.
02:52Let's all get behind Spain. It's very special.
02:58Brilliant. It's a huge joy, especially because you get to share it with the whole family and all your
03:04friends. It's a feeling that's been missing in the country because these moments of joy are kind of
03:09hidden away here. And at times like this, they come to the surface and bring us all together a little
03:15bit.
03:19I'm really happy. I'm so happy that Spain have won. I suffered a little bit with all my friends.
03:24There were loads of us together. And I went to bed at four in the morning,
03:27and now I've got to go to work and I'm a right mess, laughing.
03:35I'm really happy. I didn't expect us to win this year. I did think we'd go a long way,
03:40but I wasn't entirely sure we'd win, though of course I'm quite happy to be honest. My voice
03:45is a bit hoarse from yesterday, obviously, but anyway, I'm really happy to be honest.
03:54Despite Argentina's loss in the World Cup final, thousands of fans gathered at the Obelisco in
03:58Buenos Aires to show their support for the national team after their tournament run.
04:03Their renowned landmark was packed with people despite the results, the cold, and the rain.
04:08Spain stood in unity to express their pride and gratitude with Lionel Scaloni's squad.
04:13Amid chance jumping and waving flags, fans honored the team's effort in what was Lionel Messi's final
04:19World Cup, as fireworks light up the capital sky. And with images of the national team and his World
04:25Cup run being projected onto the monument, fans thanked the Alba Celeste for their effort,
04:29their passion, and for leading the country to a World Cup final for the second consecutive time.
04:42And during the awards ceremony, FIFA handed the individual awards for the best performances during
04:47the tournament. The Golden Bowl, awarded to the tournament's best player, was given to Spain's
04:51Rodri, who always dictated the pace from midfield for the Spanish side. In a way, the brains and
04:57backbone of La Roja and a key factor in the squad's success. The Golden Boot, awarded to the tournament's
05:03top goal scorer, went to Kylian Mbappe from France with 10 goals and 4 assists. Mbappe not only won the
05:09Golden Boot on this tournament, but also became the all-time scorer of the competition with 22 goals
05:15in three World Cup participation. The Golden Globe, awarded to the tournament's best goalkeeper, went to
05:21Unai Simón from Spain. We must recall that Spain only conceded once throughout the whole tournament.
05:27Unai achieved six clean sheets and 10 saves. The Young Player Award, given to the best young
05:33player under the age of 21, the tournament was awarded to Spain's Pau Cuvarci, who was a passion in
05:39defence alongside his partner Laporte. Without a doubt, the young player was one of the most outstanding
05:44surprises in terms of performance in high-stakes games.
05:54And this Sunday, football and music came together with an unprecedented
05:57halftime show during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final. Venezuelan maestro Gustavo D'Amel took
06:03centre stage conducting both the New York Philharmonic and Venezuela's Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra
06:08in a historic performance. Their performance carried a powerful message of solidity,
06:13hope and global resilience in support of the Venezuelan people following the devastating
06:18earthquakes that struck the country on June 24th. The star-studded show also featured the queen of pop,
06:23Madonna, who opened the spectacle performing her classic music atop a giant disco ball joined by
06:29Brazilian football legends Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. K-pop supergroup BTS kept the energy high with
