00:16If you're looking at getting involved in the space, absolutely the best thing to
00:19do is to experiment, to try. Start with the Bitcoin white paper which is where
00:22it all began, a nine-page document about what it's looking to do. From that if
00:26you want to get involved, go and buy a small amount. Because of what's happening
00:29in the recent markets at the moment, I think most of the major exchanges have a six to
00:33eight week wait time on being able to get an account. Ironically, that's because of the
00:36traditional financial systems. These exchanges, they need to have KYC, which is know your customer,
00:41AML, which is anti-money laundering. A lot of them are getting their bank accounts shut down,
00:44so the exchanges have very diligent processes they have to go through for users that create
00:48new accounts. The first thing to remember is that because cryptocurrency is designed to be
00:51decentralized, you should always be responsible for and holding your own crypto, which is being
00:56responsible for your keys. And you can do that with hardware wallets and software wallets.
00:59If you're getting involved and you're purchasing through exchanges, you're involved those exchanges,
01:04they're responsible for your cryptocurrency and you're taking the risk that they've got.
01:07In such a crazy space with people and companies coming and going all the time,
01:10you want to make sure that you're responsible and that you're holding your own cryptocurrency.
01:14As you do that, you'll start to see things like fees and transaction times and delays.
01:17You'll start to experiment with different cryptocurrencies. You'll go and look into purchasing them.
01:21Once you do that, the journey of discovery and what you're reading and learning will make much more
01:25sense. It'll be far less abstract and you'll have a better understanding of the fundamentals of this
01:28technology and how it's going to be applied.
