00:00Man of many from Australia.
00:02Hey, John.
00:02How are you both?
00:03Man, all is delicious.
00:05Congratulations on the film.
00:06It's so much fun.
00:07Come on, Mike, slow down.
00:09We are late.
00:10My stomach, Mike.
00:11I need a ginger ale.
00:15Get a ginger ale and nothing else.
00:18Is it any different kind of preparing your body now
00:20for like these high-octane stunts in action films
00:23in your 50s compared to in your 20s?
00:26Yeah, there's tons of differences.
00:29I literally tore a ligament in my foot,
00:36literally one jump rope.
00:38We had a scene where I was supposed to be jumping rope.
00:41When I tell you literally one,
00:44I turned the rope and did one jump and tore my heel.
00:48That never happens in your 20s.
00:51You got to pay very close attention
00:53once you're over 50 trying to do action scenes.
00:56Yes, pay attention to your body.
00:58Yeah.
00:59Because it's talking to you the whole time.
01:00It's talking to you.
01:02It'll let you know your neck ain't right.
01:06Your neck ain't right.
01:08I love getting to see the soft center
01:11in both of Marcus and Mike in this film.
01:13Looking back over the last 30 years,
01:15have you seen, you know,
01:17how masculinity is being portrayed in film change over time?
01:20Yeah.
01:21You know, I think that's one of the things
01:22that is fun and interesting about bad boys.
01:26Even the irony of the title.
01:29There's a broadness to the spectrum of the definition of a bad boy.
01:34Our characters say they love each other.
01:38But we're like that in real life.
01:40Yeah.
01:40We tell each other we love each other.
01:42We love each other.
01:42Absolutely.
01:43In real life.
01:43So, you know.
01:44We're going to get memed for that.
01:47That's all right.
01:48That's all right.
02:01That's all right.
02:02And I guess, how do you both kind of keep that in check?
02:05You know, the two ideas in this film
02:07that were really powerful but delicate statements
02:12that I'm proud of.
02:14The idea of Mike Lowry having the panic attacks
02:17and Marcus's character having a spiritual awakening.
02:22Those two ideas were the, you know,
02:26gentle nods to kind of a collective evolving consciousness
02:32that's happening.
02:34We wanted to be able to, you know,
02:37keep the nostalgic flavor,
02:39to keep it a popcorn movie all the way.
02:43Some are fun, but, you know, it's gourmet popcorn.
02:48You know, it's popcorn but a little gourmet on it.
02:51I'm going to have some Carmel.
02:52Yeah.
02:54Some Carmel.
02:59Are y'all still in our clothes?
03:00Just because we black, we still in your shit?
03:02What?
03:03Look at your shirt.
03:05Why don't you sing us a little Reba song?
03:08Oh, Reba.
03:09Sing your favorite.
03:11I'm a woman.
03:13I'm a strong black woman.
03:14Yeah, because she's not black.
03:15Yes.
03:16What you gonna do?
03:17What you gonna do?
03:19That ain't no Reba song.
03:20It's from her mixtape.
