00:00To me, and, you know, it's a no, no spoiler alert, no spoiler, but for for audiences who have been fans of this franchise, for you are going to scream and cheer out loud at a scene in this movie.
00:18It is such a gift for people who have been down, you know, from the beginning that it is, you know, in in cinema, there's very few payoffs that as good as as this, this one in this movie.
00:35Mike, this storm coming.
00:39Things are going to get bad.
00:43We're going to be testing.
00:45Just know what good.
00:48Tonight, tonight.
00:52Boys, if you're seeing this, I'm probably dead.
00:55Whoever gave the order to kill me is in the department.
00:59They're coming after you next.
01:01You should be careful.
01:03Your people.
01:05What?
01:05You dead?
01:07We're being framed.
01:16It's just us.
01:18No backup.
01:19Franchise has endured for almost 30 years at this point.
01:22And I think a lot of the magic of it comes from you all of the banter and the floor.
01:26So I want to ask you over the course of the four movies, what is one of your favorite scenes that you guys have improv together?
01:32That we improv?
01:35Improv.
01:37Yes.
01:37I know you've walked quite a bit.
01:39The Reggie scene.
01:41Reggie.
01:41The Reggie scene.
01:42Literally every word of that scene was improv.
01:46Yeah.
01:46You know, and to do that and then it turned out to be like the signature iconic scene from Bad Boys 2.
01:57You know, that was like full on just letting it rip.
02:00It's like comedic.
02:03You're just out on that comedic limb and every take is different and you're just going and it was beautiful.
02:10It was beautiful.
02:11And it's kind of amazing because Reggie's had pretty big arc born from that.
02:16Yes, which is crazy.
02:18That was his first scene and, you know, he wasn't even an actor, you know, and, you know.
02:23Yeah, he wasn't an actor.
02:24He wasn't an actor and, you know, I just, to me, and, you know, it's a, no spoiler alert, no spoiler.
02:32But for audiences who have been fans of this franchise, you are going to scream and cheer out loud at a scene in this movie.
02:46It is such a gift for people who have been down, you know, from the beginning that it is, you know.
02:53In cinema, there's very few payoffs as good as this one in this movie.
03:01I agree.
03:02It's a real treat.
03:03I also want to ask you both, what is the takeaway, I guess, for fans?
03:08I know there's an overall message of friendship, being ride or die, whatever, but each film, I think, has a different little nugget.
03:14What do you think the takeaway for fans are from the fourth installment?
03:18You know, there's a, so, you know, for us in the, you know, the first movie, what we were playing with, and we weren't as good at it.
03:26And in the first movie, we were playing with identity, right?
03:30And then in the second film, we were playing with lies, right?
03:35And then the third film is when we got, like, intelligent about the underlying thematic premise of movies, right?
03:44So, in the third movie, grow or die, right, was the thematic focus.
03:51And in this film, to me, which was one of the biggest possibilities, and we took a big reach for this one.
03:59And, you know, Marcus's character has a spiritual experience, and his character is trying to get Mike to trust the universe, you know?
04:12And it's like, to me, you know, we don't compromise being a popcorn movie, but I love the idea of having something that poignant that we're trying to say in a Bad Boys movie,
04:26and just hiding it under the beauty and comedy of what we're trying to do for a summer audience.
04:34And he's saying this without giving the story away.
04:36Yeah.
04:36Yeah.
04:37Yeah.
04:37Yeah.
04:42Yeah.
04:43Yeah.
