00:05And this is, look, you know, I've been wrong about a lot of stuff.
00:08It's just the way that the baseball season works.
00:11But I've been very disappointed watching them play, Tom.
00:14And I saw them play in person.
00:15And when I saw them play here in South Florida, they did not have Julio Rodriguez.
00:18So I do want to say that.
00:20I do think their pitching is great.
00:22And I think it is elite.
00:23And I think their bullpen is great.
00:25And I think it is elite.
00:26But I think their offense is dreadful, Tom.
00:28And I just don't think they have enough, again, this season to get over the hump.
00:33It's not to say that I like Texas better.
00:37But I think Texas may end up winning the division.
00:40And I'm going to be under on Seattle.
00:42And maybe some changes need to be made there, man.
00:45Because they have no business not being five, six games over 500 at this point, in my opinion.
00:51I think you put it best.
00:52It's like you can be wrong about things.
00:54But from Seattle, it's not wrong.
00:56It's like you're just disappointed.
00:56I'm like, what happened?
00:58Like, what happened with this team?
01:00And I know injuries played a part with it.
01:01And Rodriguez missed some time.
01:03Cal Raleigh missed a lot.
01:04But when we have one part of the team with the pitching staff, which is so unbelievably good,
01:09to have the rest of it lagging behind is just unacceptable.
01:12So when it comes to Seattle, them not winning 85 games, I think that's the one I would go to.
01:17Like, they just will not have enough juice to get them over the hump.
01:22Well, trending down there, 82.6 right now, which is crazy.
01:25All right.
01:26So the Brewers are trending up.
01:27They're unbeatable at home.
01:29Tom and I have talked about just how well they have played every year.
01:32We think they're not going to be there.
01:34April came.
01:35We thought, oh, this is the year Milwaukee doesn't compete.
01:38Well, look where they are now.
01:39Whoever they call up from the minors pitches well.
01:42We saw it on Saturday with Drohan.
01:44They put him into the rotation.
01:45He looks just like Harrison.
01:47Harrison just like Peralta.
01:48Just like Burns, it doesn't matter.
01:50The Brewers just always get these five, six inning guys, and then they somehow piece it together.
01:56The Brewers probably go over this.
01:58I'm with you, Tom, here.
01:59Like, this is just too good of a team.
02:01And by the way, when you hit the ball at the Brewers, they catch the ball.
02:04Mitchell, Ortiz, everybody plays great defense on that team, too.
02:07But I will say this.
02:09I don't see them winning any playoffs.
02:11They're built to win the regular season.
02:14But if Philly's going to get players and Atlanta's going to get players, they're going to play against L.A.,
02:19Tom, sure.
02:19They can win a series, can the Brewers.
02:21But I don't think they're going far with the team that's constructed.
02:23Great team for the regular season, but not for the postseason.
02:27Yeah.
02:27And the Brewers, I wasn't high on their win total coming into the year.
02:31I thought the Brewers had a chance to win the division.
02:33But just where they were and how they're constructed, I always thought they were missing a piece.
02:37I still think they are missing a piece.
02:38But see them getting to 90-plus wins, I think, would be the easy route right now.
02:43They get to 90 wins.
02:44They can win the division.
02:45But winning more than two postseason series would kind of shock me.
02:5056 wins for the Braves and 55 for the Phillies.
02:53The Braves are right where they thought they would be at the beginning of the year, despite the injuries that
02:58they've had.
02:59Two consecutive years with a lot of injuries to their club, they seem to fight through it.
03:03But I think that this is going to fly over here, Tom.
03:06Because if I remember correctly, Alex Anthopoulos, the president of the Atlanta Braves, this is his time of the year
03:12when they get to the trade deadline.
03:14They're going to add a lot of little pieces here to get better.
03:18I think they make some major moves here.
03:20That's not to say that Philly can't catch them and overtake them.
03:22But when you really think about it, the last two years of the Braves here, Tom, if they don't start
03:29off last year in April so bad, I think it was 0-7 or 0-8, just horrific, they pretty
03:34much were at .500 the rest of the year.
03:37This year that they have shown, I think they're in it.
03:40The only thing is that Austin Riley is concerning.
03:42I don't know if he's done or what the story is.
03:45He's not hitting anymore.
03:45But one bat for them, one pitcher for them, I think the Braves keep winning.
03:50Yeah, they keep winning.
03:51The question is, do I think they can get to 95-plus wins?
03:55That might be pushing it for me.
03:57And not only are they making moves, they're also making moves and extending guys at the trade deadline.
04:01They always seemingly extend guys for eight years, seven, eight years, whatever it is, and lock them up.
04:05So, yeah, the Braves do need one more hitter.
04:07One more hitter plus getting Acuna back could push them into that 95-win range, but I would go 90
04:13-plus at this point.
04:16This is what I don't understand here, Tom.
04:18You'll have to help me out here.
04:19So, the Mets right now on Cal Shea are at 75.
04:23How are the Mets going to get to 75 wins?
04:26Like, in what world?
04:27They have three good players.
04:29This is a little bit of a stunning number for me.
04:32I don't know.
04:33I just don't see it.
04:35And if the Mets are punting, are they going to get to 70 wins?
04:38I mean, literally, Tom.
04:39Like, I don't get this number.
04:41Maybe because it's a New York market, I'm not following.
04:44You tell me.
04:44How do they get to 75?
04:45That puts them in the range of almost being 500.
04:48Right.
04:49So, they are, as of now, they're 41 and 58, which is 99 games played, which means they have 63
04:57remaining.
04:59And they need to win, what is this?
05:01They need to win 34 more games, 34 of their 63 remaining they need to win.
05:08That's a bit of a stretch for me.
05:11That means they're over 500, something they haven't done in almost a year.
05:16All right.
05:16So, the Dodgers are a little bit tricky here because of their high win total.
05:19But as we've talked about throughout the show, they've all but wrapped up the division.
05:24So, it's going to add maybe not the number one seed.
05:28That's still sort of in play.
05:29But once they wrap that up, Tom, they could have five games to play and go one and four and
05:34be perfectly fine with it.
05:36You know?
05:36And that's the issue here.
05:38It's really that simple.
05:39If you were holding any type of Dodgers win ticket, you really got to be sweating that out.
05:45Because, again, when you were sitting with a 12-game lead as of now, as we're approaching July 20th, that's
05:52going to be the same as it is on August 20th.
05:54They can have it wrapped up, essentially.
05:55And they will be in cruise control, coasting down the hill to the division title and being healthy for October
06:031st.
06:03That's all that matters.
06:04So, seeing Mookie and Otani and Freeman and all these guys sitting an extra day or two should not surprise
06:10them.
06:10And, frankly, that's just going to provide an opportunity to bet against them as the season comes to an end.
