Another in the Amarillo College Natural History Museum series. The R E Howard Butterfly and Moth Collection. This collection is a treasure. It is one of the largest collections once in private hands in the region.
Included are perfect example specimens of the world's finest and most beautiful butterfly and moth species. Also included as a part of the collection are examples of some of the largest Beetle and Insect species on the planet.
The collection was built over a period of almost fifty years filled with travel and exploration. The collection has been split and sections donated to various museum throughout the years. The other serious donation was to the Monte L Bean Life Science Museum of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah about 15 years ago.
