00:18that were happening were only due to this overworking, um, um, discipline and whatever.
00:27That was actor Jim Parsons opening up about the price of success. On the latest episode of All Out with
00:33John Dean, he revealed that he wasn't happy during some of the best moments of his life.
00:38Parsons breakout acting role came as Dr. Sheldon Cooper on the hit sitcom, The Big Bang Theory.
00:43He acknowledges that his discipline may have contributed to his success as an actor,
00:47but says the constant pressure wasn't worth the emotional toll it took on him. The sitcom star
00:52says he wouldn't go through the amount of stress he put himself under again for any amount of money.
00:57Parsons even went so far as to call his work ethic obsessive behavior. He says a lot of his actions
01:02were OCD in nature and he would constantly follow a list in his head of things he had to do
01:07right.
01:08Parsons says the obsessiveness caused him to miss out on tons of life. The actor acknowledged that
01:13while he can't go back in time, he isn't sure how much stress he put himself under was necessary.
01:17The Big Bang Theory catapulted Parsons to stardom and earned him four Emmy Awards. He also took home
01:23a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Sheldon Cooper. The Big Bang Theory turned out to be one of the
01:28most successful sitcoms in TV history and ran for 12 seasons. The cast was honored with a hand and
01:34footprint ceremony at the iconic TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles. Parsons was also separately honored
01:40with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during the height of the sitcom's success. The CBS show was
01:46such a hit that producers created a spin-off series, Young Sheldon, as a prequel starring
01:51a childhood version of Parsons' character. Parsons and actor Ian Armitage, who played Young Sheldon,
01:57recently reconnected backstage on Broadway. Parsons is currently starring in Titanic, the musical.
02:03He plays the role of Ruth DeWitt Bucater, Rose's mother, in the spoof of James Cameron's Titanic.
