00:03It's great to be here for the players, obviously we're here for the World Cup, but giving back,
00:07giving our time, this is what it's about, the next generation and giving back to these kids,
00:10so opportunity and feeling the buzz of the World Cup, getting these kids outside off their iPads
00:15is what it's all about. Absolutely, and you see that over here as well, I think it's been such
00:19a good World Cup so far as well, so being American, the American kids, men and women,
00:25seeing this as well and seeing the importance and also the belief of one day that could be me in
00:29the World Cup, could potentially come back here in a few years as well and they could
00:32be playing in it. These generation, there might be one or two players here that actually turn
00:36up in the next World Cup, so belief is important and it's amazing what that little leather football
00:40does to every kid in the world. No, it's not hard to take yesterday, I'm really proud of
00:46the boys though, I think the togetherness of the players and the nation back home has been
00:50excellent and really disappointing I think to go out in the manner that we did, but fair play
00:56to Argentina, they dug very deep yesterday and found a way like they have done this whole tournament.
01:00I think it's important to immediately look and analyse it, I'm sure Thomas and his staff will do
01:05that straight away, sometimes the passion can kind of be overwhelming at some point but reflection
01:13will be a big part of it, I'm sure Gareth in his tenure has done that and every top manager
01:18does,
01:19so listen I'm sure there's loads he can learn from yesterday, it's really raw for not only him,
01:23I'm sure but the supporters and ex-players as well to kind of feel that, it feels like we
01:27it feels like we missed an opportunity yesterday. I was at the Spain-France game and I have to say
01:31they were excellent Spain and I think both sides in this final are superb with the ball, ball retention
01:37in this heat is going to be so important, the NetLife Stadium in New York, New Jersey is going to
01:42be
01:43outdoors so it's a tough test but those two countries can deal with that for sure but
01:46ball retention is great, I think Argentina have a little bit of fire in them, you can see that yesterday,
01:52they can dig deep as they did against Egypt and us yesterday coming from behind but
01:58Spain are a superb side both with the ball and without the ball so it's going to be a great
02:03final,
02:04unfortunately England won't be there but I'm sure it's going to be a great final anyway.
02:07You know what as an ex-player and something we didn't have, so from a selfish point of view from
02:11an England ex-player and fans point of view, this togetherness we need to bottle it and keep it
02:15because I've never seen anything like it. That after the games, the singing, the togetherness,
02:19I thought would be enough to bring us through because I thought we had quality and I thought
02:23that would be the deciding factor, unfortunately this time we fell short but that we need to keep
02:28that because the belief back home with the fans, Gareth was a big part of that so let's not forget
02:32the
02:33great work he done and also what Thomas has done through the group stage, yes he'll be disappointed but
02:37that if I could look at one thing that would be it.
