00:00Yeah, Tom's got it, jaw on the floor.
00:04I saw Memento and I was like, who is this?
00:08That film just really blew me away because it's such a complicated story to tell
00:12and for a first-time filmmaker I was like, how is he making this cohesive
00:16and I can follow this and I'm not lost.
00:19I love that movie, I have like a special connection.
00:21I saw Memento too, I saw it in an American independent cinema class.
00:26I guess I'll answer my personal favorite, it has always been Interstellar.
00:30It's just one of my favorite movies of all time and seeing it when I was 17 years old
00:35and my brain just kind of breaking a little bit and then learning more about it
00:39because I was doing like my school final paper on it and just learning about the practicality
00:45and how he kind of shot these sequences as practically as possible without green screens
00:53and using the IMAX camera even then.
00:55Yeah, I think I was just kind of blown away with the fact that someone made that, you know?
00:59I watched it, I was so moved by it, I was like crying and, you know, whatever
01:03and yelling at the screen.
01:05It was so complicated with time and space and all this science stuff
01:09but at the end of the day the core thing was always about, you know, about love
01:13and human connection and all the things I think also are so present in this film.
01:18like there's larger-than-life things happening, you know, it's a father trying to get home to his family.
01:24Memento for me, I saw that at the Lindley in LA. Ben Affleck and I went and just blew our
01:31minds.
01:31Yeah, amazing.
01:33Same, same memento for me.
01:35Mine would have been Batman.
01:36I went with my grandparents.
01:38Oh!
01:38Yeah, we went to the cinema in Kingston, we have an IMAX in Kingston
01:42and, yeah, I went to see The Dark Knight and I loved it.
01:46And my reaction?
01:47I was like...
01:48Just kind of, yeah.
01:49I was shaking when I first watched it.
01:52Like, I felt like I had been on a roller coaster
01:55and I just felt devastated and elated at the same time
01:59and I walked out shaking.
02:01I couldn't really talk.
02:03Like, I was just kind of like...
02:07You know?
02:08Like, I think it was just someone said in an interview, like, gobsmacked
02:11and I was like, yeah, that's kind of, you know, how I felt.
02:14I was kind of speechless.
02:16I said it all.
02:17Yeah, Tom's got it.
02:18Yeah, jaw on the floor.
02:21Yeah.
02:21I was just, I think I was just like this.
02:23I also hadn't told anyone I was pregnant, so I was like, ugh.
02:27Tom.
02:29Yeah, that's an easy answer for me.
02:31I mean, I would...
02:32It has to be my kids.
02:33So, one, I would have to hide in a suitcase.
02:37I would take...
02:38Me?
02:39I would take...
02:40Yeah.
02:41I would take Charlize and her kids hidden in the suitcase.
02:45That would be fun.
02:46I want to come.
02:48My wife.
02:48Yeah.
02:49Yeah.
02:50Me too.
02:50My husband.
02:51We would smuggle our children as well.
02:54Zeus, what's up?
02:55Dad.
02:56What's up?
02:57What the hell?
02:57Why so angry?
02:58I would want to meet Athena and I'd be like, can we hang out?
03:02Zeus, probably.
03:03Yeah.
03:04Zeus would be pretty cool.
03:05Can I borrow your lightning bolt?
03:07Zeus fathered so many...
03:11Many.
03:12Like...
03:12Shout out.
03:13Shout out.
03:14I was so fascinated by the whole infrastructure of Greek mythology.
03:21And I just think like, it is such an endlessly fascinating thing to look into.
03:27No wonder we keep borrowing from Greek mythology because it's rich.
03:32It's so rich.
03:32It's got everything.
03:34Everything in it.
03:35Oh, a fun secret so that it's not secret anymore.
03:39Yeah.
03:39I don't know if it's secret, but Matt is just annoyingly lovely and real.
03:46Like, it really is just, it's subhuman.
03:50I just don't know how he does it.
03:52I guess I do.
03:52He's just made of good stock and he's just...
03:54I worked with him 30 years ago and he is still exactly the same human.
03:59Not meaning that he's stunted in his growth, but he's just his heart.
04:03He truly cares about people.
04:07He cares about everybody on that movie.
04:10I don't want to speak for everybody else, but he made sure that I was looked after.
04:15And he was just there for me in a way a lot of actors don't really invest in that time
04:23and energy.
04:24So it's really not a secret, but it's something we want to...
04:28Exactly.
04:28We want to underline it and put it in capitals.
04:32It is impossible for Matt Damon to have a bad day.
04:35Never met a compliment he couldn't deflect.
04:37No matter how hard he was working or what he was going through, whether it was being waterboarded
04:42at sea or climbing a mountain or in a cave with 40 sheep that are just shitting everywhere.
04:49He was always smiling.
04:51You try to compliment Matt.
04:53You're just like, wow, you're great at fight training.
04:55Have you trained in martial arts?
04:56He's like, no, I just do fake karate.
04:59That's true.
04:59But for you.
05:00You
